For a change of pace in these uncertain times I’m listening to an audible ‘Harry Potter…And the Sorcerer’s Stone!
Yes, actually this happens to me quite a bit. If I hear something that was similar to something that happened in RL, a tv show/drama or another book I will recall the scene similar. to it and think of it.There was once when I left my phone on and my younger nephew wandered over and opened audible and the audiobook i was lisetening to started playing. it wasn’t appropriate for little ears and I started freaking out trying to turn it off. Now when listening to stuff i make sure i turn the screen off and place audible off the main display.
I love travelling but planes terrify me. I’ve tried everything, but I spend all the hours a flight lasts in abject terror. Until four years ago, when I decided to give an audiobook a go and listen to something while flying to Edinburgh. Completely entranced by Stephen Fry’s rendition of Harry Potter, I forgot about the flight, the plane, everything… so that’s my best memory. The first time I realise the best way to get rid of my panic when flying is getting lost in an audiobook 😉
I remember listening to my first audio, The Lightning Struck Heart by TJ Klune, narrated by Michael Lesley. I always thought I couldn’t listen to audiobooks and I was hooked since that first one 🙂
I was listening to Broken by Nicola Haken (narrated by Joel Leslie). I was on the subway sobbing.
I tend to listen to music more often than I listen to audiobooks, so I don’t have a favorite audio memory.
The audio I’ve listened to the most is Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. I’ve listened to it at least once a month since I bought it. It just leaves me with a smile every time.
I love listening to audios. You catch lots of different things and, in time of stress, they keep me sane.
no fav
I love audio books, especially when I find a great narrator. I love how they can bring life and emotion to stories. One of my favorites is You by Caroline Kepnes,I’ve listened to that audio book more times than I can even count!
Alan Cumming’s tale of accepting the Fleshbot award in his YOU GOTTA GET BIGGER DREAMS is funny, raunchy and delightful!
I’ve relistened to the soulbound series and MetaHuman Files series a few times each because both Greg Boudreaux and Gary Furlong narrate with such feeling it transports me into the story and makes me forget anything else
