LENGTH: 64 Pages
RELEASE DATE: December 1, 2019
BLURB:
When Nate Hawthorne meets Asher Dane, the huge, tattooed hunk is the personification of Nate’s dreams. But Nate knows there’s no future, because Asher is also the personification of his beloved five-year-old daughter Delly’s nightmares. She’s frightened of big men. Things turn around for both of them, however, when Delly goes Christmas shopping at the Fairy Shop and begins her quest for a wand that will make her brave. Neither of them guesses that the Fairy Shop will be the source of far more than Delly’s courage. On Christmas Eve, under the influence of a very unusual fairy, Nate’s life will change forever.
REVIEW:
Nate is an absolute sweetheart. He loves his daughter more than anything, including himself, and will stop at nothing to make her life the best it can be. But when he meets Asher, he remembers that he’s a person too and maybe he needs a little more in his life.
Delly is adorable and cute and this is a kid character done right. She’s sweet and funny and a little spoiled like all children should be. She changes her mind at the drop of a hat and her insatiable curiosity is what enables her to overcome her fears.
Asher is the very definition of “gentle giant” until he needs to come to Nate and Delly’s rescue.
This is a very cute story that tackles a bit of a hard subject. Delly’s fear comes from a scary place and you can hardly blame the little girl for how she feels. Her dad handles it well and I appreciate the effort the author put into getting it right.
This whole story is basically about how these three work through the issues Delly’s fear creates and I enjoyed it very much. Short and sweet says it all.
