Which fictional characters do you want to spend time with?

In my idle moments, I sometimes sit and ponder about which fictional people I’d like to sit down with and enjoy a beverage, or just hang out with. Here they are. No surprises for some of them……

Have tea with Sherlock Holmes at no 221B. I would love to sit in that comfy armchair and watch Sherlock (preferably the Benedict Cumberbatch one) go through the motions to solve a crime. Being waited on by Mrs Hudson herself would be a rewarding experience indeed.

Get into the 1967 Chevy Impala with the drool worthy Winchester Brothers and ride off into the sunset to slay vampires, ghouls or whatever other villain needs taking care of.

Sit and smoke whatever it is he/it smokes with the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. I mean, he always seems so out of it and I’m pretty sure the conversation would be rather interesting.

Share a pint of ale with Gandalf. I’m fascinated by witchcraft and wizardry and to me, Gandalf epitomises a true wizard. I love his dry sense of humour and we could plait his beard while we chatted.

Go through the chocolate factory with Willy Wonka. What kid wouldn’t want to have the experience and even as an adult, it’s something I’d love to do.

Sip mead with King Arthur. Sigh. I have a friend who continually tells me he isn’t a real character in history, but an amalgamation of other kings that lived at the same time. I choose to ignore him because Arthur is one of my favourite characters, and I don’t need my shiny tarnished.

Enjoy a cup of Earl Grey tea with Captain Jean Luc Picard. I love Star Trek and Captain Picard is my favourite Captain by far. That voice, those gimlet eyes…. As long as I get to sit in the Enterprise, I’m a happy bunny.
