A long winded hiatus and the promise of a triumphant return.

I’ve been walking through life in a fog lately, sort of seeing everything around me through dirty glasses. I know I’m still grieving the loss of a very dear friend that I’ve recently realized is affecting every aspect of my life, especially my writing. You see, Lusch, my friend that passed away in October, he was the catalyst that started me on the path to becoming an Indie Author. He encouraged me, he listened to my ideas for stories and characters, he gave me honest feedback and wasn’t afraid to tell me the truth. We would talk a concept to death, chew on it, spit it out and spread it around to find the one aspect that wasn’t working, then shove it back in our mouths and talk about it some more. There is no shortage of people in my life ready and willing to listen, but they aren’t Lusch, and that makes it hard. So not only am I still grieving the loss of a friend taken away from everyone that loved him far too soon. I’m missing the person that was essentially my writing partner. He-bitch took my mojo with him up to heaven and I’m bartering right now, figuring out how to get it back.

Really quick, I must share the story behind the nick name He-bitch. Myself, my daughter and Lusch were taking a long drive to a renaissance fair several years ago and the girl child was being needy and bitchy. “Mom, hand me your phone.” “How much further? Are we there yet? I have to pea.” “Mom, turn the radio to this station.” “Mom, can we stop I need something to drink.” Finally, Lusch turned around and told her to sit back and shut up before he tossed her out the window. Girl child responded… “Listen here He-bitch, if anybody is going out that window it’s you.” I tell you what, I almost had a heart attack. I just knew he was going to be pissed. Instead, he surprised us both. “He-bitch, hmmm…. (pregnant pause) I think I like that.” And henceforth, every time he saw the Girl child she would say, “What’s up He-bitch!” and he would respond, “Not much little bitch.” They really loved each other, I promise. 🙂 Damn, I miss that man.

On top of that, my parents are getting older and there are some health issues there so I’ve been spending a lot of my spare time with family, enjoying movie nights and loud family dinners. If only that were all I had to contend with. Sadly, I haven’t made enough buck to purchase one of those amazing diamond studded keyboards JK Rowling has, so I still have a day job. That, in and of itself, is time consuming. But I’m starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. The characters, their stories and audacious ideas for new series are starting to push through the fog in my brain… the storm clouds are lifting. I feel like I owe my readers an apology though, I’ve been promising them the third book in the Survivor series since January and I know my All Cocks Groupies are anxiously awaiting a new story in that series as well. I’m back in the saddle folks, but I’m cautiously proceeding until I get back into my groove again and want to promise a triumphant return!

Getting Fighter off the ground has been a long, hard, tedious road to walk. Everything going on in my life has made writing difficult and not really given me much time to write. I’m confident I’m moving past all that now and I’ll be able to spend more time concentrating on this story that I cannot wait for you guys to read. Until next time…

Fighter – A Survivor story

Dedication and smarts have given Blair Cummings a leg up in the Bureau. His job is all consuming, but rewarding. It doesn’t leave much time for a love though, not that Blair even believes in love. Regardless, their budding romance is put to the test when Mannie’s family learns he’s still alive and someone Blair thought he could trust with his life turns out to be a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
