The Places You’ll Go And The Things That You’ll See
Former SAS soldier, Clay Mortimer, the M in M&W Investigations, had thought he’d seen it all. But when his ex calls and asks for a favour Clay is intrigued, and then a bit surprised. He and his partner, Tate Williams, have a robust and imaginative sex life, but the things they see and learn in Fetish Alley take their understanding of human behaviour to the next level. Tate’s take is part kid in a candy store fascination, part shocked. At the end of the day, all good detective work requires an open mind and the skill to ferret out the truth. Still, the layers of deceit and avarice they encounter are more than par for the course, particularly from people who are not keen about outsiders to the world of Fetish Alley.
REVIEW:
Wow, I knew when I started reading this book that these characters are from another book by Susan and then it hit…Men of London series ( Feat of Clay) as they seemed to just fit so well together. I liked that we’re seeing these two men after their book has ended and are looking into their present. These two men own an investigation company together and it’s great seeing their lives/work.
This case was has been a slight doozy for them as Relio, Clay’s ex asks them for help with the death of one of the members of his club. Relio feels that something isn’t right and he needs help in figuering out what happened to his friend.
I like that Clay and Tate work really well together and even though they are on this case, they still have others that they are working on as well. I like seeing them with co-workers and with all of the other secondary characters.
This case was good…I mean, I knew who was involved…I just wasn’t sure how and why until the end…a GREAT sign if the mystery isn’t always solved so easily. I like that the story kept me wondering and that I knew that I’d have to finish the book in order to find the answers.
The secondary characters and places in this story had me going…I actually hope to find a place like Fetish Alley so that I can see for myself all of the stuff that they had there. One resturant that was in the book…yeah…I wouldn’t go there on a bet…you’ll see when you read the story. Tomas…I liked him. I liked his snark and I liked that he has his beliefs and that he worked toward making the world a better place. Relio…he just sounds as sexy as all get out adnd I have to say that I loved seeing Relio and Tate have their moments together. Fun times.
As we know, Susan can write some love scenes and she didn’t disappoint here. As Clay and Tate are an established couple…it was still really great seeing that the flames of love and attraction haven’t dwindled. That they still have the passion for each other as they did when they met…it’s nice to see.
I like that Susan has given out hints of what the next story may be…Relio and Tomas…those two together…WHEW!!! I can totally get behind that story and those two together.
If you’re looking for a great story with great characters and a pretty good mystery…look no further. This is only the beginning.
