BLURB:
Prince Raphael, the youngest son of the Montaunoit royal family, is the custodian of his country’s history. At a Sotheby’s auction, he outbids Marc on an item he doesn’t even want. Just because he can.
Meeting the museum curator turns Raphael’s world upside down, and when lust turns to love he knows he has to change.
Can Marc be the one to show Raphael that he doesn’t have to stay the lonely prince forever, and that love is always an option?
REVIEW:
I love stories that have a common theme. Holiday stories with a common theme? Bonus!
Prince Raphael lives a life of privilege, yet he very much enjoys the opportunities he has to interact with all the people of his country. He especially enjoys interacting with them during the holidays.
Marc is one of the youngest curators at the British Museum, which his supervisor never fails to remark upon when Marc is selected to have a responsibility he thinks should belong to him since he has more experience.
The relationship between Marc and Prince Raphael is strained in the beginning because Marc is unhappy over Raphael outbidding him at the auction for things Marc felt were more important for the museum to acquire. And also because he’s not sure why he was selected for the position.
I felt really strongly that this particular story was exactly like one of the Hallmark Channel Holiday movies (if they featured same gender couples). It felt like wrapping up in a fuzzy blanket on the sofa with a cup of hot cocoa. I liked the interactions between Raphael and the people of his country as well as the interactions between the royal family members. I recommend this book for anyone who likes modern day fairy tales, fluffy comfort reads, or Holiday movies on the Hallmark Channel.
