“For me the way I am feeling always influences what I want to read.” I totally agree with that sentiment. Also, I’m glad to hear that you could change your habit since becoming a reviewer =)

I agree with you, Louisa, covers are important. The only way I can buy a book when the cover is not appealing if it is recommended by somebody I trust.

A great cover does demonstrate that extra bit of care!

I do agree that covers help a book but a good book can really go unnoticed if you just judge by the cover. I learned this young and I was glad I discovered it when I did.

Yes, a good cover can attract you to a book but I do always read the blurb too – and as HB says, a good read can be missed if it is a bad cover.
I usually dont then refer to the cover but sometimes the models are much younger or trendier than the MCs and that can be distracting!!!

Thanks for the post, and for reviewing for Love Bytes. You mentioned mood, and I like how reading can bring up different moods I’m not feeling then, and though a good book can linger, I’m not one to have a reading mood carry over to RW.

I read my first m/m because the cover snagged my attention. I kept coming back to it and couldn’t get it out of my mind, so i caved and bought it and haven’t looked back since.

I still give a hard look at covers, but it won’t necessarily deter me from buying the book 🙂

I love a good cover but some of the best books i read had covers i didn’t find attractive or fitting for the story. So i guess it is true to not judge a book by his cover 😉
