Hi there,
It’s Anyta here 🙂 thank you so much for hosting me on Love Bytes today! I want to take the chance to introduce you to the leading couple of my new contemporary gay romance, “Gemini Keeps Capricorn”, out on December 18th! This third installment in the “Signs of Love” series features Wesley, a flirt of a Gemini and Lloyd, a law-on-legs Capricorn. As they say, opposites attract! Check out the exclusive teaser below for a sneak peek!
A week after Thanksgiving weekend, Wesley woke feeling miserable. He groaned and tentatively sat up. The room spun. His arm felt heavy as he swatted at Caleb pathetically. He was still asleep, snoring lightly.
“Hazelnut?” Even his voice sounded croaky.
He prodded his brother’s cheek. Nothing.
Fine, he’d search for sympathy elsewhere.
He shuffled to Lloyd’s room. His RA hours had just begun. He sat at the desk, tapping away at his laptop.
Wesley groaned and thwumped against the open door.
Lloyd shoved himself out of his chair, scrutinizing him.
Wesley helped him with the diagnosis. “I feel achy and sweaty, and my head’s making noise.”
Lloyd swiveled toward his first-aid kit and Wesley stumbled into the room after him.
“I’m so hot. Feel my forehead.”
“I believe you.”
Wesley lunged for Lloyd’s hand to press against his burning forehead, missed, and toppled onto Lloyd’s bed. “You’re my best friend,” he moaned as Lloyd picked through the kit. “You should know exactly how hot I am.”
“I’m aware of how hot you are.”
“What?”
Lloyd paused for a moment before resuming his hunt for a remedy. “How hot you think you are.”
A momentary grin sliced through Wesley’s agony. “You said I’m hot—ouch!”
“Might want to get back to your room, Wesley. Your head is getting too big for you.”
That presented a Caleb-sized problem. “My bed won’t work for a sick person. Can I crash in here?”
Lloyd straightened. “Is your bro— Never mind. Tuck yourself in. I’ll look after you.”
True to his word, Lloyd supplied Wesley with an abundance of tissues and painkillers and brought him orange juice that tasted fresh pressed. He checked his temperature and drowned them in darkness when the light started to hurt Wesley’s eyes. Then, at the end of the day, he made soup.
Wesley shuffled up in bed, resting against a pillow. The upward-facing desk lamp produced a ring of light against the ceiling. “Lloyd. Nursing me back to health. The sight is enough to make me want to be sick on a semi-regular basis.”
Lloyd pressed a spoon of hot broth to his lips. “How can you still talk so much?”
Wesley slurped it down, wincing. “Hearing my own voice. It’s worth the pain.”
Lloyd’s eyes glimmered with a laugh. “Can you take over, or shall I spoon feed you all of this?”
“As much as I love you doing it for me, I fear half the chicken juice is drizzling down my chin and onto your sheets.” Wesley took the spoon from Lloyd. “And I don’t want sullied sheets being the reason you throw me out.”
“I promise you that won’t be the reason.”
“But you are going to throw me out?”
He wiggled a finger between them. “RA. Resident. You sleeping in here the entire night? Not a good look.”
Wesley whimpered. “Even if Hazelnut took the floor, I wouldn’t be comfortable.”
“I didn’t hear any of that. Please don’t repeat it.” Lloyd planted his hands on his hips and searched the room as though it held an answer. With a sigh, he grabbed a folded blanket from his closet. “I’ll take the couch. If anyone asks, your bed broke.”
Wesley laughed as Lloyd left the room, then groaned as his head pounded. “Yeah, because there won’t be any follow-up questions to that excuse.”
“Gemini Keeps Capricorn”, book 3 in my sweet & light-hearted gay romance series “Signs of Love”, is out December 18th!

Blurb:
Sometimes, one stubborn Capricorn is all it takes… to drive Wesley Hidaka to crazy, flirtatious lengths.
Wesley loves annoying his RA Lloyd Reynolds. He just can’t help it. Lloyd is focused, decisive, grounded. He has this amusing ability to follow rules.
Of course Wesley wants Lloyd to break one… or three hundred.
Sometimes, one smirking Gemini is all it takes… to have Lloyd laying down the law and marching Wesley straight back to his dorm room.
It doesn’t stop Wesley teasing again. And again. And again . . .
But damn. Lloyd doesn’t crack easily. He’s full of principles. He’s unshakable.
He’s the perfect friend to have when Wesley needs help. Like with his truant brother and his old high school principal.
Sometimes, one little lie is all it takes… to find Wesley fake-engaged to his off-limits RA.
What can he say? It seemed like a good idea at the time . . .
