Just hours before Brandon Harris is supposed to head home to Cincinnati for a Labor Day family picnic, his boss at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame forces him into giving a private tour to bratty British pop-rock star Lucas Black. Before he knows it, he finds himself swept up in a whirlwind road trip through Ohio with Lucas riding shotgun.
Lucas grabs hold of this wild opportunity to run away—even for a few precious days—from the gilded cage that is his carefully managed life. He’s just looking for a little fun and freedom as a normal person. From roller coasters to a college football game, Brandon begins to see the real Lucas Black buried under the famous persona. But by the time he and Lucas discover their mutual attraction, they only have one night left before both of them have to go back to their real lives. The fun is over…unless Lucas can run away for real this time and keep their adventure going.
REVIEW:
Runaway Rock Star is a fun, entertaining love story with a very promising HFN ending and I am truly hoping for a possible sequel to see what happens to Lucas and Brandon. The story is part of the States of Love series and it takes us to Ohio.
I think we can say that this book tells the story of everyone’s ultimate teenage or young adult fantasy. Meeting a famous person (you are openly or secretly attracted to) and get to know the real them, experiencing them open up only to you and realize how much you have in common, spending a few days together while getting to know each other and falling in lust/love for real.
This ultimate fantasy comes to life on the pages of this book.
We all know most celebrities and world famous artists present a more or less fake identity, posing as something they or their management think sells best. Only the luckiest ones can truly be themselves. Peeling off the layers of fakeness, revealing someone’s true self is a great gift and Brandon is given this opportunity.
Both our MCs are fun, wholesome characters. We have a young, world famous, almost burned out pop star and a fresh out of college music fanatic working at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Add some mutual attraction, some great chemistry and a few days on the road together and we get a light, fun and sexy comfort read.
The writer doesn’t want to give more than that but it’s perfectly enough for an hour of satisfying reading experience.
Lucas and Brandon bond over music almost right away and that gives them a strong base to get to know each other and have fun together. Their adventures are very well written and really entertaining.
Hope you enjoy this short story as much as I did.
