A Little Holiday Sparkle

f82a7513dfb87b1d38a251b009de7bf8I, like so many others, love reading. Pretty much my favourite thing, if we’re being honest. My taste in books ranges to almost anything.

Most of the time, anyway.

December is a different. It just feels different, doesn’t it? There’s something special about the last month of the year like the air is imbued with magic and everything feels just a little bit cozier (which is probably for the best because it’s also frickin’ cold!).

I am probably not alone in this, but once November is out and December hits, all I want to do is curl up and binge on the fluffiest, sparkliest, most saccharine books I can get my hands on. There is no room for angst or sadness on my holiday reading list. I like my stories with as much sweetness as my grandmother’s shortbread cookies (and believe me, those things are 90% sugar).

This year, I decided to try my hand at writing my own. I’ve never released a Christmas book before but this year I have two! Both are charming and fluffy, with plenty of feel-good moments and more than their fair share of sparkle. I hope if you get a chance to read them they satisfy your craving for holiday sweetness!

In the spirit of the season, I’m giving away a couple of copies of each book. Enter below for your chance to win!

Merry Christmas!

Since the death of his father, Trick Grigsby has fought to keep his head above water. Following in his father’s footsteps as a talented architect, he hopes to work his way up at the firm. Unfortunately, the company’s new owner barely resembles the man who was once Trick’s father’s best friend. Trick’s days are filled with drudgery and cruel remarks from the man who was supposed to be his mentor—along with his two sons, whose only jobs seem to be making Trick’s life miserable.

But all that is about to change.

Edwin Goodmaker struggled through his fairy godparent curriculum, but his mother—the reigning Fairy Queen—has a simple solution: Edwin will go to New York City and get some practical experience. When he meets Trick, Edwin knows he’s found a worthy charge, and he’s sure he can help Trick achieve all of his heart’s desires. Edwin falls for Trick, but with everything standing in their way, a fairy-tale ending might remain nothing more than a dream.

Although Christmas is his favorite time of year, all is not merry and bright for Danny Ellis. After being laid off and facing eviction, he’s eager to make a fresh start. When a friend mentions an opportunity in Sin City, he packs up and heads west. Unfortunately, plans run awry when his truck breaks down a little more than halfway there and he’s stranded in the cold with no money, nowhere to stay, and no way to get to Vegas.

‘Tis the season, but not for Merrick Holland, who loves being a part of the community in the small town of Rowley Bridge. Christmas has been a little tainted since his father died three years ago, and when people start to deck the halls, he withdraws. When Merrick finds a man asleep inside his bakery one morning, rather than call the police, Merrick makes him a cup of coffee, and after hearing his story offers him a job and a place to stay.

The two men strike up an unlikely friendship, but with Christmas only three weeks away, could a little holiday magic bring them together?

    Thank you for this post, guys. I don’t celebrate Christmas but I do have a go-to story of one; it’s Josh Lanyon’s The Dickens with Love. I forgot how many times I read this story already – somehow the whole premises and story just got to me. Over and over.

    I don’t have exactly one story because I don’t re-read. I prefer to devour new holiday romances that I haven’t read since they can be my new favorite titles :).

    Like Lee, Sixty Five Hours of Christmas is my favourite! For a non Christmassy holiday story that is not happy and red, Nine Lights over Edinburgh by Harper Fox
    Heidi Cullinan’s Minnesota Christmas stories are always anticipated. Any series Christmas offering : RJ Scott Montana; Jordan L Hawk Hexworld, Widdershins; NR Walker Red Dirt;
    Also enjoy Christmas anthologies.

    I love romance at Christmas time. This year I discovered Jay Northcote’s, ‘A Family for Christmas.’ Last year it was ‘What Happens at Christmas.’ Sweet and fulfilling.
