REVIEW:
This author is new to me, but I can tell you that Ms. Silver can add me to her list of new fans. This story is not your typical Alpha and Omega romance but I became truly enamored with the MC’s.This book completely captured my attention. The story takes place in an alternate universe where werewolves exist and live in separate territories that are set aside for them and governed by different laws than humans. This world has witches, and magic, and their means of transport are horses. In this world Omegas are submissive werewolves, that are trained from early on to be servants of a sort. They are held in high regard because of their ability to carry pregnancies to term. This is important to the werewolf race because previous wars had tried to wipe them out.
Caden, an Omega, despite his forced training at the Omega Institute, is anything but submissive. He has a rebellious nature and is a part of an underground movement to help free all Omega’s. His alpha lord was defeated, so now Caden belongs to the new alpha lord, Fletcher. Since it is tradition the first thing Caden fears is he will be forced to service Fletcher in order to provide him with an heir. When Fletcher makes it clear that he will nor force any of his Omega’s to mate with him against their will, Caden is stunned in disbelief. In time he learns that Fletcher is unlike any other alpha he has ever known and their relationship begins to change as they grow closer. But even as Caden gains Fletcher’s trust, he still meets with the underground group and they have given him a task to carry out that will betray his lord. Things are not as clear as they used to be for Caden.
I loved seeing the relationship between Caden and Fletcher blossom and changed. Be prepared, it took a while, but it was worth it for me. Fletcher is all alpha, very protective, and only domineering when he needs to be. He’s smart and has a quiet strength about him that made him sexy. I also liked a secondary character in this story, Raina. She was an Omega also, and became a friend to Caden. Had they had Alpa females during her time, she would have been the first as she was a warrior at heart. There were times in the book that were slow but there were points in the story that provided lots of excitement as well.
