REVIEW:
This book was a really sweet quick read. I enjoyed this story of first impressions and realizing that all is not what it seems.
Anthony and Frank Ragucci are cousins who are actually more like brothers. These two men are so close that no one could ever tear then apart. Their love and devotion to each other is without a doubt, so beautiful to behold.
Anthony is the younger of the two, by 11 months and has been living with Frank and his parents since his mother passed away and his father is a long-distance driver and is on the road more often than not. I liked that Anthony is honest about who he is and is just this really great guy. I love that he does such honest work and he loves what he does. Anthony is such a great guy and to see him fall in love and be so damn happy…it was wonderful. I love that Anthony is a romantic and it shows in everything that he does. I loved watching him fall in love with Hunter and seeing their relationship grow.
Frank…I really like. He is such a level-headed man who only wants to live a good life. I love that he’s such a good guy. He’s a good son, brother/cousin, friend and lover. Well, when he allows himself the opportunity to have lovers. I have to say that when Frank got involved with Tim…I had such high hopes for them and when the bad shit went down…I was heartbroken for him. Frank is the kind of guy that you’d love to be friends with and to see that trust to be broken…heartbroken.
Robert and Hunter…these two friends are the objects of affection for our trusty MC’s and I liked each character for different reasons. I really liked that Hunter was all in…in regards to being with Anthony and how much he wanted to be with him. Robert…now…he was the guy that came off as very aloof and withdrawn. Snobbish…I think would be another way to put it. But as the story goes along…you see that there is so much more to Robert than what you think. I will say, I was truly hoping that he had some redeeming qualities and I was so glad when they started showing up.
Now, as I went along reading this story…I found that it was mostly from Frank’s POV. Not that I mined in the least. I really loved seeing this story thru his eyes and the emotions coming from his heart. Frank was truly the best choice in my opinion. He had the outside view of Anthony and Hunter’s relationship. I liked seeing Frank’s thoughts and attitudes change and grow as the story went along.
