Title: Takes Two to Tango
Series: A Dreamspinner Press 2015 Daily Dose story
Author: Vicky Heysham
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Length: 45 pages
Blurb:
Established TV personality Daniel Josephs only agrees to take part in a reality dancing show in London to lose weight. Single, successful, and (mostly) sorted, he’s already happy, even if he secretly wishes his love life was as rewarding as his professional one. Young athlete Will Smith, who gave up the earldom he inherited to pursue Olympic dreams, is far from happy—not to mention not interested in someone as old as Daniel. But when Will’s past catches up with him, it’s Daniel who helps him piece his life back together.
A story from the Dreamspinner Press 2015 Daily Dose package “Never Too Late.”
REVIEW:
What we find in this story is definitely what the theme is for this Daily Dose.
We have a young athlete, rower Will, who lives at his parents house and is training hard for an Olympic spot and television personality Daniel. Both man are invited to attend a dance show on television.
It seriously took me time and focus to get into this short story. The beginning feels like we as a reader are just being thrown in and it shifts between the two men’s perspectives.
The baseline of this story is ok. I really liked the dancing aspect the tv show but there is hardly any dancing mentioned. The story rushes on from how they meet at the dance show and strongly dislike each other, to Will having a fling and then getting outed and Daniel stepping up as a friend who becomes more. There is nothing to indicate any chemistry between them. There’s no touching, just two mentions of a kiss. So there may be all the love in the world but I cannot see it or feel it.
The ending is set over a period of time so we as the reader find out how Will and Daniel have established a relationship and are happy, which is nice to know and read.
Although this had so much potential I still am wondering what I read and what to exactly think about this short story.
It could have been so much more …

Thank you for the review. I like endings that give readers an idea of what happened.happening to the couples.
Sounds cute, if imperfect.
Thank you for your helpful review, I think this looks like a story with great potential that needs a few more pages (perhaps a hundred or more) to develop the story – maybe a nice hint to the author please write a longer version 🙂
Thanks for the review, it looks like the book should have been longer.
