Earlier this month I was fortunate enough to attend the Dreamspinner Press Author’s Workshop. It was my second one and has quickly become one of my favorite events. Not only because I get to spend some time with friends and fellow authors, but because it’s a fantastic source of inspiration. It’s a time where I can look back at what I accomplished the previous year and revisit my goals for the current year.

By the time I get back, I’m raring to go with all sorts of ideas and plenty of motivation. The workshop is a great place to hash out stories, gain fun marketing tips, improve techniques, and get into that authorly head space. It’s also where I take a step back and have a look at my writing schedule.

As a full-time writer, I’ve committed myself to having a certain number of releases a year, and in order for me to meet my goal, I need to have a schedule. I also need to stick to that schedule. I’m one of those people who needs to have structure and deadlines. Inspiration isn’t a problem. I have lists of story ideas. It’s picking and choosing which stories get to go where in my schedule because I can only write so much in a year. Titles sometimes get shifted about depending on what’s going on, as well as where I am as an author.

I’m really excited about some of the changes to my schedule for this year and next year. This year will see the release of my first contemporary novella. Next year will be my first contemporary novel. So what am I working on and what’s heading your way? Let’s find out!

Upcoming Releases

– April 24th, we have the release of Healing Hunter’s Heart, book 2 in the Little Bit of Love series. For those unfamiliar with this series, it was my first shifter story. Book 1, An Intrepid Trip to Love was written the MM Romance Group’s writing event in 2013. It’s contemporary with fantasy, and the shifter aspect is loosely based on Russian mythology. It revolves around a family of Siberian Husky shifters. An Intrepid Trip to Love is still a free download and you can grab it from my Free Reads page on my website or All Romance eBooks.

– July, if all goes according to schedule, we have the release of book 5 in the THIRDS series, Against the Grain. Book 5 continues the timeline and starts where book 4 left off, but from Ash and Cael’s point of view. There’s a lot of exciting stuff happening in this book, along with plenty of sweet and funny moments. The guys are well on their way to recovery which means being back on duty, even if it’s in a limited capacity for a few weeks until Sparks believes they’re ready to go back out in the field, which means training. We have mystery, suspense, family moments, the guys during the holiday season, more from our cheeky cheetah Austen, and a whole lot of trouble. I hope to have a cover reveal a month before when pre-orders go up.

– Aug, if all goes well, we’ll see the release of Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts, my contemporary novella and romantic comedy about a Cuban Miami SWAT officer injured on the job and his geeky brownie-baking neighbor determined to kill him with kindness and good food. Shenanigans ensue. I’m really excited about this fun little story and can’t wait to share it with you all.

In Progress

– I’m currently working on Catch a Tiger by the Tail, book 6 in the THIRDS series which continues the timeline from Calvin and Ethan’s (Hobbs) point of view. By the end of Against the Grain, the guys have returned to the field and things kick off with a bang in Catch a Tiger by the Tail. Destructive Delta’s training has been taken to a whole new level and we find out best friends turned to lovers in the midst of juggling the job, a new hardcore training regime, and their very explosive relationship.

– Loving Blitz will be the fourth novella in the North Pole City Tales series. We return to North Pole City and join our handsome Rein Deer pilots on another adventure. This year we have sweet Cupid, half elf/half fairy, and the big and burly Blitzen. No two elves could be more different. Mischief is sure to ensue as love blossoms between these two Christmas cuties.

On the Schedule

– For 2016 we have lots of exciting books in store, from my contemporary cozy mystery involving a caperish cast, to more from Destructive Delta and their pals, as well as the third book in the Auspicious Troubles of Love series, a re-write and re-edit of The Amethyst Cat Caper, and the third book in the Little Bit of Love series.
