Mickey grinned. “Was that good?”
“Excellent Mr. Sherwood.”
Mickey slid out of his chair, grinning. With this new commercial, he was hoping to increase sales for his company. So far everything was a success in his world, except his love life. Phfft, what else is new? Flicking on his phone he checked his messages. He had stopped by the studio to film the commercial before heading to the docks. A customs official, a Mr. Hugh Brannough, was cocking up the shipment of some of their badly needed merchandize. Well Mr. Brannough, I’m coming for you!
A shiver suddenly raced down Hugh’s spine, as he sat at his desk at the docks. I wonder what the hell that was about? Shrugging, he went back to work…

“You really came to see if I was going to sue you?” Hugh’s gaze narrowed. “Don’t worry, I’m not. The insurance claim will cover my hospital expenses.” He smiled again. “Besides, I don’t want to sit in a court room and tell everyone I was knocked unconscious by a tidal wave of cocks.” He chuckled deeply and I joined him.
“I was wondering.” There was no point in lying. “But I was concerned, too. I was so afraid you were badly hurt.”
“Cause you dropped my head on the floor?” He knew?
“How did you find that out?”
He grinned at me. “The EMTs told me. I woke up on the way to the ER.”
I was so embarrassed. “I’m so sorry, Hugh. I don’t know what happened.”
“I do. I asked you to go to dinner with me and you dropped my head” His grin grew devilish. “I never got an answer, though. I kinda lost consciousness.”
“Again, I’m sorry but I was a bit shocked.” My shoulders shook as I laughed.
“Why?”
“I wasn’t expecting you to ask me out.”
“Again, why?”
I crossed my arms and shrugged. “Men like you don’t ask out men like me.”
“Men like me?” His eyebrows disappeared beneath his dark curls.
“You know; big burly guys. I mean, look at me, I’m short and slight. Guys like you look right through guys like me.” I hated saying it out loud, but it was true.
“You’re only a bit shorter than me and I think you’re very handsome.” He pushed himself up against the pillows and grinned. “And you’ve got quite a tongue on you. Most guys back down rather than get in my face. Not you. You got right up there and gave just as good as you got.”
“I don’t like being bullied.”
“No shit,” he scoffed. He gazed at me solemnly, his black hair in stark contrast to the white of the pillow case. My pulse quickened as his green eyes grew stormy.
“What?” I suddenly found it hard to take a breath.
“I was just wondering if you’re as good a kisser.”
“I am a good kisser. A very good one so I’m told.”

Mathew Ortiz was born in Nuremburg Germany in 1970, the son of a quiet Army man and his loud Hungarian wife. Spending only two years in Germany, his family relocated to Fort Smith, Arkansas where he spent his youth in exile. Here is where he attended primary school and college, obtaining a degree in Nursing. He moved to Phoenix and met the bane and love of his life, Tim. OK,after 400+ read M/M books,I thought I knew everything that I need to know about M/M genre. Apparently,I was wrong *shakes head regretfully* …this is the first time I hear for this author. And based on the reviews of his books,it’s a shame.Anyway,unusual decision to put excerpt in the blurb,but it got me interested 🙂
