I’m sure I’ve heard him mentioned in “Christmas around the world” descriptions, but not lengthily!

I have heard of St. Nicholas. In fact, my parents and my Catholic schools always did something small for St. Nicholas’s day. It was a small treat while waiting for Christmas.

I am European so I have heard of Nikolaus and his companion Knecht Rupprecht (servant Rupert) and I think from what I remember Knecht Rupprecht used to hit the naughty children over the head with a bag of ashes, which in later stories became the bag that horrible gifts (like coal) was used to take and leave as presents instead for the naughty ones 🙂

Seasonal Greetings and thank you for a chance to win a copy of Grenzen
