SJD Peterson blogs!

First I want to say “Thank You” to Sid Love for allowing me to be spotlighted today. I so much appreciate it.

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to talk about, and then I realized I hadn’t really reflected on what I had accomplished in 2013. And it was a very, very good year for me!

Plan BThe year started out in February with the release of Plan B. It was my first novel that was a stand-alone contemporary and the response to it was overwhelming. I will never be able to thank those who supported me and believed in me, enough. With the release of Plan B I was able to start writing full time, something I am still doing today.

The Guards of Folsom series was also published in 2013. Pup in April, Tag Team in October and Pony in December. I have had so much fun with this series and love being able to explore this fascinating lifestyle!  This year the series will continue with Roped as well as Bound. I’m not sure how many will be added to this series after Bound but I guess… when I run out of ideas lol.

Two of my favorite characters also had their full story told in 2013. Mac & Gunny from Beyond Duty have such a special place in my heart. They made me laugh, cry and sigh and they too will be getting more attention in 2014. (Nope can’t tell you when or what book… it’s a secret hehehe)

Tuck & Cover (Rough Rangers, #1 & #2)Owen & Tuck saw their re-release in June of 2013 in Tuck & Cover and my story Wrong which was inspired by an internet troll, was published in Crack the Darkest Sky Wide Open.  I am so honored Eric Arvin allowed me to be a part of this anthology. I got the chance to step away from my normal writing style and write something darker. I also love the fact that we are now called the Crack Crew. We’ve really come together this past year as friends and let me tell you, I have never met better human beings than those within the Crack Crew. I am privileged to call each and every one of them a friend.

I didn’t have a lot of extra time to read this past year but I did get to read a few amazing books in 2013. In no particular order my favorites reads of the year were; One Breath, One Bullet by S.A. McAuley, Touch & Geaux by Abigail Roux, Kin by Kealan Patrick Burke, Soldiers by Aleksandr Voinov and Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat.

Professionally, this past year was a dream come true and I want to thank each and every one of you for all your support. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to do what I love, and that is write stories full time. I promise I have lots more coming out this year and hope to make 2014 even better.

~Hugs~

I just finished reading Pony and loved the tie back to Lorcan of the Whispering Pines series. I hope you’ll do more of that since I’d love to know how Jess is doing.

Loved, loved Plan B – one of my 2013 favorites. It was also great revisiting Tuck & Owen. Hope to get more of their story. I have the Folsom Guard series on my wish list. Hope 2014 is a great year for you as well.
