REVIEW:
What an intense story. After reading the warnings I knew I was in for something different and boy was it ever!
I have to say it took me a little bit to get into (as this is a bit out of the box for me) but when I got involved in the story I couldn’t stop. It drew me in to a level where I was completely turned off from the outside world and totally focussed on the main characters of this story.
We have Kaden living with his brother Hunter and during the story we get introduced to both Anna and Jacob. Coming from an abused household, Hunter and Kayden can only rely on themselves and being together. You get a peek in their lives growing up and of them living together in the home they were born and raised.
It is difficult for me to formulate words about this story without spoiling it to much. Most of the things I could point out would spoil the readers fun/ interest I am afraid. This is one of those stories you need to read on your own to get the whole picture.
What I can say is that it is groundbreaking in for way that you get a look at something unconventional without feeling that you are reading anything wrong. You want things to happen (at least I wanted them) that you shouldn’t. You learn things about relationships that I for one couldn’t have thought of upfront.
Author Kol Anderson takes you on a trip without rules, without anything to ground you, just on a trip to what could be but shouldn’t be or….?? Let yourself be swept up into this story and try to see things from the aspect of Kayden or Hunter. Try to see if you can believe in what Jacob is doing. Try to understand Anna’s reason for living with Hunter.
I want to emphasize the incredible intensity of this story so just allow yourself to be swept up and follow the road Mr Anderson guides you over .
I hope that the author allows us a peek of both Kayden and Hunter and their respectable lives in the following book in this series.
