Ryan Haskell loves everything about the wine business. But he could do without the good-natured intern slash former jock with the wicked grin who always seems to be in the way. Ryan isn’t sure why the new guy is under his skin when everyone else loves him. Thankfully he’ll be gone after the holidays.
Danny Meyers can’t believe his luck when he lands an internship at Conrad Winery. It’s the perfect temporary gig to wrap up his graduate studies. He’s left his dreams of tennis stardom on the court to focus on a new career and a new life. However, he didn’t count on the spark of attraction he feels for his prickly co-worker. When their tentative friendship blossoms into something more than either man counted on, they may have to change direction and lean into a holiday wish.
Leaning Into A Wish is an entertaining novella in the Leaning Into series spiced up with some holiday spirit and lots of love. This is a light, fun, heartwarming story and can be read as a standalone so don’t worry if you haven’t read the previous books in the series. Enjoy this, then go back and find out how those lovely secondary characters who appear here found each other.
We know that everyone deserves happiness. No matter what you do, how you once behaved, everyone deserves a second chance, a possibility to redeem themselves. It might not be easy to see in real life but that’s why fiction is a wonderful world. We get to see the same world, same created universe from different angles, from different characters’ point of views. This is what happens here as we get Ryan’s happily ever after story. You might remember him from Wes and Nick’s book, if you have read Leaning Into the Fall where we get to meet him as Wes’ ex-lover.
Leaning Into A Wish is his story and we get to know him and his background a lot better. Ryan gets his perfect match in the form of Danny, a young, sexy, super-flirtatious intern he works with at the winery. They are both obviously attracted to each other but they need a bit of a push from Geordie to finally confess their mutual interest. When it happens their way to a fulfilling relationship opens and there is no stopping now.
We get good background stories, fantastic chemistry, lots of fun and sizzling sexy-time and all the great feels with minimal angst. Just what the doctor has ordered in the holiday season.
Leaning Into a Wish is a real entertaining, fun holiday read you will definitely enjoy. Have fun.
