REVIEW:
The triplet Dragon Guardians have been a favorite part of the whole Dragon Veil Universe for me. First they are half fae with their mother being the Fae Queen Mother, Lady Calla of the Flower Mound in the Land of Summer. And their father a huge and powerful dragon that chose to stay with her. The triplets are the Guardian Protectors of the Portal House. And their power, when linked together, is extremely powerful and important against the vampires (and others, but especially vampires) that want to harm them and the other lands they are charged to protect.
Corbin has tried to remain strong keeping watch over, and tending to the needs of Evander, the Hunt Lord, who has been in a coma for a year and “didn’t seem to be trying very hard to wake up, but then again, it wasn’t every day that you turned into a vampire, drank unicorn blood, and got better. That was probably hard on the psyche.” But he knew deep down inside two things:
- One, Evander was his mate.
- and Two, Evander was going to come out of this just fine.
Evander just needed to wake up and Corbin could handle all the rest. But what follows shock Corbin and Evander’s families to the core when they finally meet after his awakening to his mate…How did a vampire get into the Land of Summer? And are there more? Because seer triplet Cosmos is saying yes with his visions and that’s not the least comforting now that he and his new mate are expecting!
I could wait to get Corbin’s much need HEA. He needed it so much. Between caring for Evander for a year, personally knowing that the vampire bitten fae had his brother-in-law’s unicorn blood coursing through him to help cure him hopefully, and knowing he was his mate had settled hard on his shoulders. Add in his mother, and his challenges with her, her interference and being too much alike, and it’s a wonder that he was hanging on at all. But Corbin had faith and he knew all would be well when Evander finally opened his eye and they could get to know each other.
I don’t know what happens on this journey next. Each of the triplets have met and mated with their mates. And the next generation is here when it’s time to pass the torch so to speak. But we know that Cullen is with child again. And yet we have no real idea how that vampire got into the Land of Summer. We literally just witnessed Corbin give birth and the brothers unite to state:
“My guardians,” he whispered. All three of them opened their eyes as one, and a light flashed, connecting the babies. Corbin swore that he heard the house hum. “One day.” He smiled and nodded. “One day, this will be yours.” “Until then,” Cosmo came to him and touched one shoulder. Then Cullen came to his other side. “Yes, until then.” They spoke as one. “Until then, we will hold the portal.” They would hold it, and their mates would give them strength to defend their future.
Could that be more cryptic? And then…End! So I am hoping 🤞 that this is not the last of their stories. I need to know what’s happening and they are a major key to everything that has to do with the Veil! Because I’m feeling a bit like I’m left on a edge and don’t know what’s coming next…or if there is more coming.
