The PROMISE OF TOGETHER is the third and final book in the Fisher and Church series.
I never dreamed I’d get a second chance at love. I scarcely believed in it the first time. Then Mads appeared from nowhere during one of the hardest times of my life, and everything I thought I knew about myself, about what I deserved, about who I wanted to become, was turned upside down.
Falling for Mads was the easy part. Learning to trust him took longer. Having faith in myself is a battle I’m still fighting, but finding the courage to confront and make peace with my past is the only way forward.
Mads sees me. The real me. Even the parts I’ve spent a lifetime pretending didn’t matter.
The broken pieces of my childhood are coming back to haunt me. Another mystery. More personal this time, but no less deadly.
They say it’s never too late to change and I’m determined to try. I want a future with Mads at my side, and not getting myself killed beforehand would be an excellent start.
Author Note and Trigger Warnings: This book contains a prologue, flashbacks, and on-page discussion around domestic violence and stalking behaviour.
REVIEW:
Omg I’m so glad the author took us back. I absolutely loved the first two books in the series and they were perfection but this is what building an HEA looks like. This is the swoon, boy I love Mads and Nicky.
This might be my favourite book of the series and that is no small feat since the first two are exceptional.
The emotional growth and solidifying of their connection beyond what we saw in the first tow books is the bedrock of this love story. It takes off exactly where the last book took off and the two are challenged on dealing with quite the crisis that Nicky is facing reconnecting with his past, accepting how he may even after all these years have central issues around self worth to work through and the anger and hurt that have been bound into his very being.
They are also again, completely unexpectedly embroiled in a dangerous game of life and death where things seem suspicious from the get go.
This is fast paced intrigue and action and there is no time for mistakes. These two must be a team if they are to come out on the other side.
I don’t want to give away the plot because that would spoil the experience entirely. Highly recommend starting this series if you haven’t, it is spectacular
“And wasn’t that what we all were, to some degree? Human. Fallible. A tragic mess of mistakes. Sometimes we got it right. Sometimes we got things horribly wrong.”
“I love you deeply, Mads. Mind, body, and soul. More than anything. I want you forever. I want us forever, and I know that’s not going to be easy. It’s going to take work on both sides, but I’m here for it. Every fucking day. I’m here for it. That’s the promise I’m making to you.”
