BLURB:
Riley has been alone in the woods for a long time. Turned as a child, he’s hungrier and more fractured than the average vampire, and staying clear of humans is his safest bet. His moms think a mate could help him stabilize, but it’s unclear whether Riley has one, anomaly that he is. Until a new baker arrives in town, smelling so sweet and so perfect that Riley can barely stop himself from eating him up on the spot. Now it’s no longer a question of whether Riley has a mate, but whether Riley can pretend to be less of a monster long enough to woo him.
Romance has never been Seth’s priority. He’s always been more focused on family and friendships and his passion for feeding delicious baked goods to whoever will take them. So it’s odd that this too young, too quiet, too beautiful man keeps showing up at Seth’s door, looking at Seth like he’s something special instead of painfully ordinary. And it’s even more odd that Seth can’t keep his own boundaries straight or his hands to himself. And it’s maybe oddest of all that Seth is coming to feel like Riley’s unnerving, unwavering attention is something he might not be able to live without.
DON’T FEED THE VAMPIRE IS A HEATED MM PARANORMAL ROMANCE WITH A HEA AND NO CLIFFHANGER. IT CONTAINS A BROKEN, SWEETHEART VAMPIRE WITH ZERO SOCIAL SKILLS; A RAY OF SUNSHINE HUMAN BAKER; FATED MATES AND THE VAMPIRE MOTHERS DETERMINED TO PROTECT THEM; AND A MYSTERIOUS RESEARCH INSTITUTE RAISING EVERYONE’S SUSPICIONS. EACH BOOK IN THIS SERIES WILL FOCUS ON A DIFFERENT COUPLE.
REVIEW:
New Spin-off series from both the Vampire’s Mates series and the Demon Bound series.
I have missed Author Grae Bryan’s vampires. I remember being offered a chance at a brand new author and her first book. A book about a sweet ER nurse that is doing everything he can to pay for his mother’s nursing care. And the vampire that finally found something he didn’t believe in…finding his mate. Seth reminded me a bit of sweet Danny. And then how could anyone forget the tragic tale of Riley. To what lengths that demented vampire had gone, that he was so driven to find a child for his estranged wife. No matter how wrong it was in vampire culture and usually very unsuccessful for the unfortunate child they turned. Thankfully he was placed with his two loving “moms” that took care of him and raised him. But he always knew he was different than the rest of his kind. My heart went out back then and I was so thankful that the author finally gave us Riley’s much needed HEA.
I was so pleased that so many of the vampires and demons and faes made appearances. Maybe not Wolfe, because he still creeps me out, but I was thankful he showed up when he did. And Seth’s cousin Benny with his fae mate Helio. Even if Seth had been a bit naïve back home, he knew who he could count on when he needed help. And it’s not everyday that someone can actually shock Wolfe. That was a special treat I enjoyed as much as Riley enjoyed Seth’s Orange treats.
I will say that though I suspected why that new institute had come to town I never would have guessed their mission! That was some deeply demented stuff going on and I don’t think too far fetched as it might seem. Money drives everything.
I am looking forward to this new series and we are promised to meet new species we didn’t know existed. (Think others held captive in that awful institute. And Luke is rumored to be featured front and center. I need to know his whole story. And since he is Violet’s uncle and a book club member, I am hoping we get to see him frequenting Coastal Crumbs for Colby’s donuts.
