PUBLISHER: Self-published
LENGTH: 83 pages
RELEASE DATE: February 12, 2026
BLURB:
Trapped by slavers and sold to a horrible creature who guards him like a treasure, at first Clove desires only freedom. His very nature revolts at the prospect of being deflowered. But everything changes when the impossible comes to a revelation that his captor isn’t all that he seems, and that Clove’s desires are also transforming.
Something is budding inside of him that makes him reluctant to run away.
Ensnared by his captor’s mysterious allure, Clove is equally tempted by two opposing impulses—his dream of freedom, and his need for the man who has purchased him for pleasure.
REVIEW:
Note: Please be sure to read the content warnings.
Clove has lived a very tough life on the streets. He’s been captured however by elven slavers who are going to sell him off. He’s guarded his virginity fiercely and now he’s going to be sold to the highest bidder? He fights with all his might, but in the end, the magic of the elves is too much for him.
He awakens in a completely different place remembering little except the dark eyes filled with complete desire for him in the cage where he was displayed. He finds himself marked and in a lavish bed. Then he finally sees his captor. He’s stunned! He thinks he wants to get away, but he’s collared and his own desire becomes overwhelming and he’s unable to do anything but submit to his captor – not that it’s painful. In fact, there is so much pleasure he passes out!
When Clove awakens the next day, he is alone. He finds himself changed and he’s angry at first. Then his captor comes to him in a different form and things become more clear. This is not what he remembered or expected at all. But this is where he belongs.
This is set in a fantastical world and none of the characters are “humans” exactly although they may resemble them in some ways. There is a lot of sex here, but the sex serves multiple purposes. I hesitate to label it as non-consensual, but it’s definitely leaning to dubious consent. There is plenty of magic that allows the captor to enjoy the captive. As the story goes on, it’s clear that there is much to these two protagonists than meets the eye. My only real complaint is this that this is a new beginning/continuation of a larger story that I would be interested to read more about. I’m a huge fan of Piper Scott’s Forbidden Desires series, but I’ve never read any of Daniel May’s work. This is was very interesting though and I’d like to read more about Clove and Sobell.
