An unforgettable thank you…

The hottest silver fox paramedic happens to live on my street. When he rescues me, I bring him a casserole as a thank you. Seems like the neighborly thing to do.

However, I don’t anticipate my thank you turning into a steamy afternoon delight. Now Percy and I are heating up the sheets and finding more in common than I ever could have expected.

Both Percy and I have been burned by love before. Are we ready to take a chance on love or is this fling just a flash in the pan?

Hot Dish is a steamy treat of a novella with a side of sweet feels set in the Mount Hope universe, but also stands alone well. It features two mature heroes over forty, a wary silver fox paramedic, a sunny high school art teacher single dad, insta-lust, wooing via food, and a heaping helping of a fluffy happily ever after. Originally featured in the Delicious charity anthology, the story has a new cover and a preview of Up All Night, Mount Hope Book 1.

REVIEW:

Stu and Percy are neighbors.  Percy is a paramedic who was there when Stu and his daughter were caught up in a house fire.  Stu’s kids spend their time with both Stu and his ex-wife.  When his kids think they should do something to thank Percy for his help, they decide to make him food 🙂  Stu delivers it and they get up to more than just a simple thank you 😉  They both agree that this is just a casual no strings thing, but then nothing happens for a couple of weeks.

Percy has had a bad divorce and moved across he country to start over.  He lost his home, his marriage, his friends, etc. in the divorce and he’s not willing to risk things again.  When he visits Stu to finally take back the baking dish, they agree to a friends with benefits arrangement.  Eventually though, Stu realizes his worth and he doesn’t want things to be a sort of secret.  He wants to really date since they are clearly in a relationship already.  Percy is afraid and backs away.  Until he doesn’t 😉

This is a very sweet and spicy novella about two guys who are mature enough to know what they do and don’t want.  They just aren’t quite in synch when they start something and what it is going to be.  Luckily they get on the same page without a lot of drama and angst.  I loved the kids, the vibe of the town and having read the series based in this little Oregon hamlet, I was glad to get to read this little gem.  Percy and Stu are both good guys and I wanted them to figure out that they were better together for real.  If you’re looking for a quick read featuring mature men who quickly get out of their own say, you will like this book.  Recommended.
