BLURB:

Can rookie Cam’s sunshine steal veteran Dawson’s thunder?

Kicker Dawson Hall is ready to leave his past in the dust. His last season was catastrophically bad, with the distraction of his divorce and discovering that his father-in-law wasn’t managing his money—he was stealing it, instead.

He signs with the Toronto Thunder, poised for his redemption arc, but he’s grumpy and frustrated he has to undertake one at all. He should be better than this. He is better than this.

The new rookie punter’s hero worship might be just another annoyance, but Cameron Green is sweet and kind and more than a little naïve. He’s a country boy suddenly dumped amongst all the skyscrapers, with no idea of how the real world can chew him up and spit him out. It’s practically Dawson’s duty to mentor him and if Dawson soaks up a little of his sunshine, too?

Well, nobody could blame him for that. Not after the year’s he’s just had.

But when Dawson starts craving more and more of Cam, his crush dangerously teetering into passion kind of territory, he’s forced to not just confront his own past, full of disappointment and distrust, but his future, too.

He wants his redemption, and that perfect vision of a season feels just within reach. But it turns out he doesn’t just want Cam for single season—even if it’s everything he believed he wanted—he wants Cam for every season.

REVIEW:

I couldn’t wait for this next book in this amazing series and let me tell you…IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

Everyone knows two things:

  • Dawson is an amazing and extremely talented kicker. Probably one of the greatest ever.
  • Dawson had a really, Really, REALLY bad year last year. What went down in his personal life was bad. What his father-in-law did was unforgivable. And Baltimore’s deplorable lack of faith in him destroyed his faith in himself.

But Dawson has people who care about him and still believe in him. His Special Teams Coach Marty. His buddy from college, star quarterback Aiden Flynn and especially the new rookie punter Cam, who has stars in his eyes for the veteran kicker. So now he just needs to start believing in himself again. And let those that care about him care…especially the Rookie!

I think, more than stealing Dawson’s thunder, that Cam calmed his inner-thunder. His sunny disposition and positive outlook on life gave Daws back his inner calm and the ability to be who he truly is…one of the greatest field goal kickers out there. I have been watching kickers for a long time. The way field goal kicking had evolved floors me. The distances they are achieving blows my mind!!! Watching football really gets me going. Whether it was when I was cheering on pep squad when I was in high school, dating the starting quarterback in college, watching my sons play in middle and high school, going to college games with friends or finally getting to go with my brother to my first NFL game in my 60’s, football was in my blood. I love sports and football is always exciting. So getting a book where the veteran kicker, who is trying to come back from one of the worst years of his life, and the rookie punter form a support team on the field and a relationship off it was a real treat.

I am thankful that the author took them on this journey. It wasn’t just hot sex (but, believe me, it’s hot🔥) but the journey that Cam went on so patiently. The time he gave Daws to work through all his baggage. And how prefect he was for Dawson. This all worked so well.

Now I need to know what’s up with Wes’s friend Ramsey and Nate. I have a feeling I’m going to have to watch my phone so it doesn’t over heat. Because when these two get together there is going to be fire 🔥‼️‼️‼️
