BLURB:
The first time I laid eyes on him my heart skipped a beat.
My obsession began the way all obsessions do…with a spark. A small, seemingly insignificant flicker that quickly took root.
He was pure, liquid light. A sunshine boy with a heart of gold.
He turned my world up-side-down. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t let him out of my sight.
Ever wondered what happens when red flags and green flags collide? If so, you’re about to find out.
Heart is an obsessive, swoony, stalker-y MM romance featuring the biggest green flag in existence, and a broken boy you can’t help falling in love with.
REVIEW:
I signed up for an ARC of this book without even reading the blurb, because Jesse H Reign has become one of my favourite authors and I love her stories.
This one didn’t disappoint a bit, I loved every second.
It’s difficult to write about it without revealing too much, but it’s safe to say that the author led me towards the truth very slowly: I had a lot of questions at first, about Lennon’s obsession for Connor and about his friend Havi (I wrongly thought I had all figured out) but then, as their story progressed, I was lulled into a false sense of security, like their lives were going to be okay, they were falling in love with each other and were very happy.
But then Lennon’s anguish and all those unanswered texts and sleepless nights, his pain and his hurt and that damned tin, all of it started to overwhelm me and I couldn’t put the book down until everything was revealed.
At that point I was completely in love with Connor: he’s such a wonderful caring man, just the right person for Lennon. He may bear a huge physical scar, but Lennon’s emotional ones were just as big. And his journey towards healing all those scars was heartbreaking and painful, but also full of pure wonderful love.
They help each other to heal through love and support and sunrises watching and a lot of other little things that make their story simple and wonderful at the same time (are we allowed to cry for a table?).
The two major physical scenes, both from Lennon’s pov, were amazing, very emotionally intense.
I can’t wait to read the bonus scene, I hope it will start right where the author ended the story because I need to know what happened next!
