Christmas is just another day.

But my employees are threatening to quit if they have to work Christmas. Again.

When I lived in New York, avoiding the holiday was easy. Now I’m back in Mule Creek and in a secret relationship with my late sister’s husband, grumpy Irishman and diner owner, Aidyn Christy.

How can I enjoy the holiday season when Aidyn insists on keeping our love a secret?

When my absent parents return to Mule Creek, insisting I host family Christmas, I turn to Aidyn for help.

I can do this. Pretend to be joyful. Pretend Aidyn is just my brother-in-law. Pretend egg nog and Christmas lights can piece this family together.

It should be easy. I’ve pretended I’m not in love with Aidyn every day since we met.

But I’m tired of pretending. Tired of planning weddings for others. When will it be my turn?

How can I convince Aidyn we’re worth the risk?

27 Kisses is part of the Wedding Disasters series and features two grumpy men rediscovering the joy of Christmas.

REVIEW:

Note:  This is the 5th story in this universe and as such has MAJOR spoilers for the previous books.  I feel like you have to have read at least Brother of Bride to make this story work 😉

Garrett Bishop left Mule Creek for New York after his sister Emily married the love of her life Aidyn.   Because he was also irrevocably in love with Aidyn.  Then Emily died in a car accident and he stayed away because he blamed Aidyn.  But then after several years, he’s back home and he and Aidyn start something after he confesses his love for Aidyn at the most inopportune time.  And after years of long distance sneaking around, he’s moved back to Mule Creek and has built a successful business.  He still is avoiding the holidays.  Until his parents show up after nearly a decade after leaving town after Emily died.

Aidyn loves Garrett.  He does.  But he’s got his reasons for not coming clean about their relationship.  He’s got his teenage daughter to think of.  And what will the town think of him being with a man?  And not just any man.  His deceased wife’s brother.  But it seems like things are about to get even more complicated now that his in-laws are in town and have taken up residence with his secret boyfriend who DOES NOT DO CHRISTMAS.  UGH!

Garrett is bulldozed into planning the perfect family Christmas.  His parents are relentless and his sister Jane too.  So he and  Christy are doing their best to put it together.  While keeping their relationship still a secret.  Aidyn further entices Garrett with an advent calendar of kisses – both the chocolate variety.  They have to get VERY creative to share them for the month before Christmas.

Garrett’s parents are something else.  His mother keeps telling him he needs to find a nice woman.  Garret keeps reminding her he’s gay.  Finally she invites someone to Christmas dinner for him.  Christy is unamused and chaos ensues.  Luckily there are a LOT of nosy nellies who really want these two to get out of their own way and just admit their feelings to the world and be happy 😀

Well this was such a beautiful holiday rollercoaster ride!  Christy and Garrett’s 7 year long secret romance finally gets the happy ending we have been waiting for 🙂   There are so many funny moments here along with some very devastating memories that threaten to ruin not just Christmas but any possible happiness for Christy and Garrett.  Luckily Jane and Nat and Jonah and even Adrien and Isaac and Zye come through.  Everyone in town gets into the act to get these two their fairytale ending and HEA.   A holiday wedding was just the cherry on the top of this delightful and VERY LONG romance between these two.  I have loves this whole series and I can’t wait to see what comes next. There are some new candidates for the next couple and I really hope I’m right.  Highly recommended for all the holiday and hard-won HEA vibes.
