BLURB:

Kieran doesn’t discriminate when it comes to the things he hates: people, small talk, kombucha—he despises them all equally.

And then there is Ash freaking Cleaver. Cocky, shameless, and on a mission to get under Kieran’s skin—and into his pants. The fact that Kieran doesn’t bat for his team doesn’t seem to bother him. Nothing seems to bother him, including Kieran’s unconcealed hatred for the guy. Actually, Kieran swears the pervert enjoys the open displays of hostility.

Yeah, he definitely hates Ash the most.

So when Kieran wakes up two years in the future—next to the very man he despises, in the bed they share, in the life they’ve apparently built together—no one can blame him if he loses it a little (a lot).

Trapped in a timeline he doesn’t understand, with the man he can’t stand, Kieran desperately searches for a way out.

And he better find it quick.

Because the more time he spends with this version of Ash, the one who kisses his forehead and knows how he takes his coffee, the one who makes him feel safe even in the middle of a storm, the harder it is to pretend he still hates him. Even harder to admit that, maybe, he never really did.

After all the effort to find a way back, leaving this reality behind might just be the hardest thing he’s ever had to do.

Should our Stars Collide is book 3 in the Who We Are series. While the story is about a different couple, I highly recommend picking up one of the previous books to familiarize yourself with the world and the characters, so you don’t get overwhelmed.

TWs: mentions of emotionally/mentally ab*sive childhoods, drinking as a coping mechanism, negative self-image

REVIEW:

I’ve longed for this story since the author wrote the scene at the cinema, when Ash met Kieran for the first time and I’m so very happy the author put them together and gave them a happy ending.

On the outside they couldn’t be more different: Ash is easygoing, funny, a bit arrogant and very confident, while Kieran is a grumpy chaotic mess, who keeps everyone at arm’s length.
Both of them have their own demons, though, demons tied to their past and to their families, both of them have been wronged by their parents who didn’t raise them with love. Ash was crushing under a ton of expectations and his wishes and dreams became irrelevant and Kieran was treated like a huge burden his parents couldn’t deal with and left him to his own devices.

I adored their dynamic, in and out of the bedroom: Kieran was able to submit but also to keep his brattitude very alive and Ash fulfilled his need to be in control while simultaneously being swamped into Kieran’s whirlwind personality. Their banter is amazing, Kieran pushes and pushes until the raging volcano inside Ash explodes.

Their “first” time was beautifully written, very emotional and wrapped in so much love. I really really liked it.

What prevented me from giving five full stars:
I didn’t really get how the back and forth in time worked, honestly I was a little bit confused, but I kinda pushed it aside to fully enjoy the wonderful romance.
And also needed a bit more from the epilogue since the author is not sure there will be another book after this.

I loved to see Cal, Dawson, Ellis and Gabe again, the moments where they were all together were hilarious!
I enjoy Amithia Raine’s writing very much, I look forward to reading more from her. Let’s hope she will give Zeke his own story too, I think he’s the most mysterious of the whole gang.
