Skylar Reign finally feels like his life is coming together. His business is thriving, his found family has his back, and Kingston Porter—his grumpy, impossible, perfect, almost all the time boyfriend—has become the heartbeat of his days.
But when their dreamwalking journey twists into something darker and malicious, Sky learns that magic isn’t just for everyone else. It’s waking in him too—and it’s nothing like he expected. Wild. Demanding. Alive.
Kingston’s not sure which is harder: watching Sky step into power he’s unsure of, or keeping his own feelings buried where they belong. But as new threats stir in Willowhope, both men will have to trust the bond between them… even if it changes everything.
Return to Willowhope, where the heart knows magic—and love is the spell that never fades.
REVIEW:
The Dreamwalkers series blends paranormal romance with themes of found family, courage, and emotional growth. Book one (Sky’s Guide to Getting His Man & Banishing Ghosts) introduced Skylar Reign, a dreamwalker with a quirky charm, and Kingston Porter, the grumpy yet magnetic man who became his unlikely partner. Their relationship began with sparks of attraction but was tempered by mistrust, insecurity, and the supernatural chaos of Willowhope.
This book picks up with their relationship already established but far from settled. Sky’s business is thriving, his found family is strong, and Kingston has become the “heartbeat of his days.” Yet the arrival of darker dreamwalking threats forces both men to confront not only external dangers but also the vulnerabilities within their relationship.
Initially in book one Sky and Kingston’s romance was marked by hesitation, Sky’s uncertainty about Kingston’s gruffness and the feeling that Kingston didn’t like him, married with Kingston’s reluctance to trust his own feelings. In this book they are firmly together with an exploration into how commitment doesn’t erase insecurity. Kingston struggles with burying his emotions, while Sky wrestles with his newfound magical power.
The malicious twist in their dreamwalking journey becomes a crucible. Sky discovers that magic isn’t just for others, it’s awakening in him, wild and demanding. Kingston must learn to support Sky without smothering him, a shift from protector to partner. Their dynamic evolves into one of mutual trust rather than one-sided defense. Where book one leaned on banter and tension, this one emphasises vulnerability. Kingston’s grumpy exterior cracks as he admits to his fear of losing Sky, while Sky’s confidence grows as he embraces his power. Their love becomes less about attraction and more about resilience, love as a spell that never fades.
Sky has been the quirky dreamwalker relying on his found family and Kingston’s steady presence. When his own magic bursts forth, it destabilises everything he thought he knew about himself. This isn’t just a plot twist; it’s a shift in identity. Kingston, the grumpy protector, must decide whether to keep burying his emotions or risk vulnerability by supporting Sky through this transformation. His role changes from shielding Sky to trusting him, which is a huge emotional leap. Sky becomes powerful in his own right, and Kingston must learn to stand beside him rather than in front of him. Their love is tested not by attraction but by whether they can trust each other when everything changes. This is where their relationship matures into something deeper.
The external danger in Willowhope escalates right as Sky’s powers emerge. The timing forces them to rely on each other in ways they hadn’t before, making their bond the only shield against both supernatural and emotional collapse. Their bond is strengthened by the supportive Willowhope community, showing that love thrives when rooted in belonging. Sky’s awakening powers mirror their relationship’s evolution, unpredictable, demanding, but ultimately transformative. Both men must trust not only each other but themselves, highlighting that growth in love often requires surrendering control.
Sky and Kingston’s journey from hesitant lovers to a couple facing supernatural and emotional trials together is the heart of the book. The romance is not static; it grows alongside the characters’ personal transformations. By the end, you will see not just a love story but a partnership forged in courage, vulnerability, and magic.
