BLURB:

A pining hearth-witch. A grieving siren. A Christmas invitation that changes everything.

Trent has a crush on the siren who runs the Aquatic Horticultural Emporium. With his melodic voice, striking blue skin, and those very intriguing tentacles, Malachi features in all of Trent’s late-night fantasies. But what chance does a nervous virgin who constantly blushes have with the older siren? Still, Trent has to try.

But Malachi has no inkling that Trent is trying to catch his attention. He can’t imagine that this sweet young man would be interested in him. After all, Malachi is reserved, gloomy, and deep in his grief for his lost mate. Then Trent suggests a purely physical relationship. Malachi surprises himself and says yes.

As snow falls and hot chocolate flows, something tender flickers into life between them. Trent brightens Malachi’s dark and lonely world. But can the siren open his heart again? Or will they both spend this Christmas alone?

A Siren Song for Christmas is an MM cosy fantasy romance with plenty of spice. It features Christmas vibes, a family of hearth witch bakers, a touch-starved siren, a pining virgin, an age gap, very inappropriate use of tentacles, a pet frog, and an HEA. Whilst this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

REVIEW:

This story is a sweet romance between two very different characters.  Malachi is Siren who runs his own Aquatic Horticultural Emporium and is just surviving – not living.  He’s been grieving for many years for his lost mate.  He feels like an outsider. He is lonely and isolated with the exception of his customers and his pet frog Kelby (adorable!).

Trent is a hearth witch who works in his family’s bakery.  His brother Jasper has been injured and so every week Trent comes to Malachi’s store to get seeds which is part of the remedy that a healer has prescribed.  This has led Trent to have a bit crush on Malachi.  The Siren is very different from Trent and he’s curious as to what Malachi is really like behind his glasses and his formal manner.  Trent wants to ask him on a date, but he gets so nervous once he’s in Malachi’s presence that he just can’t seem to get the words out.

Trent is the youngest of his family and he remembers the sadness of his siblings.  He has never had any kind of relationship but he is so intrigued by Malachi.  They begin to spend time together but Trent thinks they are on a date and Malachi is looking for friendship.  There are some missed signals here, but they figure out a way forward 🙂

This story was a little bit heartbreaking.  Both Malachi and Trent are such lovely characters. They each have things in their past that are keeping them a bit stuck.  When they begin to explore their relationship things get much better.  I so enjoy this series and these characters.  There is plenty of tentacle action here as well 😉 It’s plenty spicy but also sweet.  This is a lovely addition to this series and I can’t wait for Jasper’s story.  The variation in characters and stories are keeping me invested in this series. Highly recommended.
