I wanted to hide from my past and ended up sharing a bed with it instead.
Once upon a time, I dreamed of a life with my best friend. We would shift for the first time, scent each other as mates, and live out the happy ever after that only Fate could provide.
Our first shift is Christmas Eve. What could be more magical than that? He scents like peppermint bark and chocolate, and I’m ready to call him mine. Only, to him, I smell every bit the wet polar bear I am. Getting through the last six months before I can go to college is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I manage.
I avoid going home and reopening the wounds of my heartbreak. Each year, I find something to keep me occupied in my college town. This year, my family offers to come and spend the week with me, and I panic-lie, telling them I have to travel for my graduate thesis. I book the first place I can find to hide out for the season…or at least I thought I did…
Beary Mated Christmas is an M/M mpreg shifter holiday romance featuring an alpha polar bear who thinks he can outrun the heartache of falling in love with his best friend, the omega wolf whose beast didn’t get the mate memo, only one bed, second chances, true love, fated mates, Christmas magic, an adorable baby, and a guaranteed happy ever after. If you like your omegas strong, your alphas hawt, and your mpreg with heart, download your copy today.
Beary Mated Christmas is part of the Double Booked for the Holidays shared world featuring some of your favorite mpreg authors. They each stand alone and take place at the same resort that is really bad at having enough beds available.
REVIEW:
Back I return to the Winter Wonderland Wilderness Lodge and all the chaos that results from the accidental Double-Bookings.
Denali Ashe wants the same thing every year at Christmas time since he was 18 and shifted with his best friend Abel Walker. He wants to be left alone! Ten long years since that day that is heart was crushed. The day they both experienced their first shift together on Christmas Eve. The day Abel confirmed that his best friend was his fated mate with his wonderful sweet scent of peppermint chocolate. Also, the same moment that Abel stated matter-of-factly “I gotta tell you, buddy, I didn’t think you’d smell like wet bear, but you’re beautiful, so all is forgiven.” The day he officially had his heart shattered and avoided Able until he left for college. And has every since. So, when his family states that they are coming to him this year he books a cabin in the snowy mountains at the Winter Wonderland Wilderness Lodge for “research purposes”. But all his careful laid plans go up in a puff of smoke when opens his rented winter cabin’s door and there stand his mate stating that he’s booked on this cabin too. And, after checking with the front desk, two things are confirmed: (1) both Denali and Abel have accidentally been double-booked in the same cabin, and (2) it was a major booking glitch and all the cabins are double booked! Now his fated mate, that continues to smell like delicious chocolate and peppermint bark, is stuck in the tiny cabin with his scent overpowering his inner polar bear making him continually shout “Mate”! A mate that obviously still doesn’t smell his mate scent! Ugh!
This one really got me in the feels. Ten long, suffering years these two were separated. All because they never vocalized things. Things like “my bear knows you are my mate!” Or, why can’t I smell my mate even though I know he is my mate. Questions that parents might have been able to help answer. But foolish pride and shame and being 18 year old male shifters all caused. Ten wasted years. Then I though about what Denali said after they figured out that both Denali’s polar bear and Abel’s wolf knew they were mates. “Perhaps the timing wasn’t right. Maybe we needed to mature and do some things on our own before it was time to be together.” They were very young, still in high school when they shifted that first time and Denali’s suspecting were confirmed. And 18 year old boys don’t think about things like dysfunctional body parts. They both must have needed that separation in order to appreciate the second-chance that fate was giving them. Because it had to be fate. Way too many things to be just left to chance. And being more mature and settled made understanding it all makes way more sense. Right mate/wrong time makes it make sense. But I hated how long that wait was and the torture those two sweet mates endured being apart that whole time.
I have stated before but it bears stating again (yes, pun intended) that I love this series. I love the concept. I loved all the different scenarios that happen when all the cabins were double-booked at the Winter Wonderland Wilderness Lodge. I loved all the different authors twists on this theme. And I loved that it provided so much joy while reading. And it provided hope when hope is so needed right now. That true love prevails and fate has your back. I love that it has truly helped put me in the Christmas Spirit. I simply can’t recommend hard enough this wonderful Multi-Author series. And this book was the perfect way to start it off! 💕🎄
