These journeys to the Winter Wonderland Wilderness Lodge and Branson’s misdoings have really brightened my evenings. They are getting me deeply into the magic of Christmas!
River Almeida just wants a bit of peace and to be left alone. His well-meaning mother just wants him mated as the fates desire and producing grand-pups. As a giant otter shifter his one request, when making his getaway reservation, was to be in Cabin 13 because it was closest to the stream running right behind it. A bit of swimming and catching fresh fish sounded heavenly. Right after a nice warm shower and a cozy nap in the huge bed after his long travel day. What he doesn’t expect is a man standing in his bedroom door demanding to know why I am in his bed in his cabin by the stream that he specifically requested!
This was such a sweet and thoughtful novella. Poor Bohdi. He had refused to even think about getting pregnant because he never wanted to inflict the pain of not being able to shift on to his offspring. But hormones, when you discover your fated mate, are real and babies happen when alphas knot their true mates. And we all know that condoms don’t stand a chance!
I love that this short novella took us through the entire journey that River and Bohdi went on. From strangers stuck sharing a cabin. To sharing only one bed. To Bodhi running off before exchanging numbers. To discovering that you are indeed pregnant. To finding each other again and being overjoyed about it. To the baby shower of all baby showers that ended in a splash! (How appropriate for otters! Hehehe) To their Happily Ever After! I loved it all!!!
Now on to the next book in this wonderful series that has me smiling each night! The perfect book to curl up in a fuzzy blanket and sip hot cider or cocoa. And one of those warm White Chocolate Macadamia nut cookies Bodhi was so fond of.
