When you just happen to be a jellyfish shifter, things can get a little, well, tingly whenever you touch the wrong person too much. Talk about a dating faux-pas. Leaving your partner with itchiness, burning, and reddish purple welts all over sensitive areas tended to result in being ghosted. A state that was no fun at all and even a bit depressing when you happened to be a social creature, like me.
The only good thing to come from trolling a bar for a bit of competition on the pool table and maybe even someone to share a few drinks with, was meeting the coolest pair of sea turtles this side of one of my favorite animated movies. Seriously laid back and chill, they offer to show me around the area and help make my transition from island hopper to island resident complete.
At least my new sea turtle buddies are immune to my venom and interested in being more than just friends with benefits. Merry flippin’ Christmas to me on that point, there might be a bit of tinsel and bows in my future after all.
Six Stingers Stinging is a paranormal MMM holiday rom-com i in the Tinsel and Tentacles 3.0 series, featuring an intersex jellyfish shifter, island living, a unique holiday celebration, and marine shifters of several different varieties.
REVIEW:
I’m back on another visit with the Tinsel and Tentacles 3.0 Christmas specials with my favorite sea creatures!
Lani and Nyx have been best friends since their youth. Nyx is a leatherback turtle shifter and his fated mate Lani is a green sea turtle shifter that is missing his right flipper/arm. After witnessing the village bully, Nuno (who has been a problem for awhile), be taken down by the beautiful intersex jellyfish shifter Kekoa, they reassure them that it was self defense and that they are immune to their toxins. When a trip to the beach the next day results in the discovery that Kekoa is Nyx and Lani’s missing fated mate things are looking up. That is until Kekoa is suddenly laid off and his hotel room is destroyed. Thankfully their mates have a plan.
I loved how Kekoa was finally having the life that he desired. To finally be able back home in the area he has wanted to live…in Guam. I hated how he had to hide his jellyfish side because of some crazy and dangerous fad/kink. That people thought that it okay to use them and the other jellyfish shifters in such a disgusting way. Having to change his hair to avoid being sought after to be used. No one should ever be put in that uncomfortable situation and Numo saw what happens when you make undesired advances and take it to the next level. Thankfully they made this situation a teachable moment to not only their mates about what jellyfish shifters like themselves have endured on the US Mainland. They also were able to educate their new mother-in-law, that happened to also be the local police chief. She was also able to learn why they changed their appearance and was able to be more aware of this harmful practice.
I loved how the whole family and village not only accepted these three shifter’s union but openly celebrated it. They were now an accepted part of this warm and welcoming community. And he definitely made major points with Aunty Ina when he not only loved her shrimp kelaguen but asked for extras. Which was a good thing since she lived right across the street now from him and loved to make sure they were fed.
These three men formed a perfect and unbreakable bond as fated mates and it was such a delight to watch unfold. I will say that some of the more creative ways they used Keloa’s tingly venom was a bit unique and eye-opening. I can honestly say that tentacle sounding in Nyx’s urethra sounds like a definite no-go to me but to each his own. That was a very unique way of adding some tingly spice to their lives for sure. And one I have never hear of in any books I’ve read before. 😳
I have enjoyed this series and hope that you are as well.
