Oxley Van Doren has a high IQ, but he lacks social skills and the ability to communicate. And to be honest, he stopped trying. He has a perfectly structured life and is very disciplined.
He’s a matter-of-fact type but knows what he wants… Huntley. From the moment he heard him scream he knew he wanted him. ‘Mine’
Huntley was shot on the streets, when Oxley found him, he took him home instead of a hospital.
He doesn’t know why, but he just did. He’s completely gone for Huntley.
“Can I keep you?”
With the help of Oxley and the doctor, Huntley slowly recovers. The connection between Huntley and Oxley is getting more intense.
Oxley makes Anaheim safer; he tries to eliminate waste from his city. He and his team try to find Huntley’s shooter.
While it’s a dark read with morally grey characters, the story is mellow and quite intimate. It’s part of a series, and it shows. Throughout the story, the author explains the family tree, so you’ll know who is who.
Overall a captivating story where the characters end up together, but not in a final way. We will meet them again.
