BLURB:

At six feet of cocky charm, easy smiles, and a reckless streak a mile wide, Harlan “Gator” Thibodeaux is not my type. So why is he the one I call when my world falls apart?

Julius Petros has spent years dazzling older men who wanted arm candy, not commitment—men who loved the sparkle but never stayed long enough to see the person underneath. Gator is nothing like them. He’s bold, disarming, and far too willing to look past the performance and into the parts of Julius no one else has bothered to see—the parts he’s tried to keep hidden.

But when Julius witnesses an abduction behind a nightclub, the danger becomes terrifyingly real—and the only person he trusts to keep him alive is Gator.

Gator is ex-military, a hand-to-hand combat expert, and far more dangerous than he lets on. He’s sharp, loyal, and lethal when it counts. And when he promises to protect Julius, he means all of him—the glitter, the drama, and the heart he’s never let anyone hold.

As danger closes in and the truth about what Julius witnessed begins to unravel, he’ll have to decide: stay hidden behind a wall of sparkle and sass, or let in the one man who might be strong enough to stand beside him.

REVIEW:

This is the second work in the three bears tactical series. This time we focus on Gator one of the three partners.

Gator has always had a thing for Julius, the sassy hairdresser, but the timing has never been right They’ve never both been single and in the area at the same time but now he has a chance.

Julius has just found out that his longest relationship in a long time , six months, isn’t what he thought it was. He isn’t going to be anybody’s bit on the side. But it’s not all doom and gloom because he knows the Gator is around and single. But nothing is ever that simple, When they actually manage to get together, with their friends at a Daddy/ Boy night at the local gay club, Julius sees a young chap being kidnapped and despite his best efforts is unable to stop it.

Gator and the rest of the men and women from Three Bears Tactical make it their mission to try and find out who the young man is and who has taken him. But whilst working at a wedding Julius happens to see one of the kidnappers and  unfortunately, they’ve seen him as well. Fortunately he knows a really secure space to run too and the daddy he can trust to keep him safe.

I really enjoyed this book it includes all the things that Jacki James does so well. It is well written, with a great storyline and interesting characters including the secondary characters that we all get to know a little more about in this book. There is found family in the form of all the employees at Three Bears Tactical and the brotherhood the three partners made through serving in the military together. There is the loving accepting family comprising of Julius’s sister Miranda, his niece Lainey and his grandmother. and Trixie, the African Grey parrot, with an amazing vocabulary.

We also get to see Mika and Hawk again and maybe meet Crowe’s potential new love interest. I can’t wait.
