William considers Iver a presumptuous prick. Iver believes William an insufferable brat. With outside forces conspiring against them, they have no choice but to work together.
They agree on a marriage of convenience on the condition that neither of them takes an outside lover. Thrust together, they must navigate overcoming their enemies and exploring their growing attraction while keeping their hearts firmly locked away. As the winter solstice celebrations draw closer and aversion turns to friendship turns to budding feelings, William and Iver are, unbeknownst to them, barreling toward disaster.
His Winter King is an ultra-steamy MM marriage of convenience holiday romance set in a vivid fantasy world. It features an intense enemies-to-lovers story and cozy winter vibes. This book is part of the Folk of Vale series and ends in a HEA for the couple.
REVIEW:
Ivar is a dark fae king, and William is a human, the king of Vale. Ivar needs an heir for his throne, and William needs protection against the orcs.
When Ivar proposed to William, William accepted. Both kingdoms need this. They agreed on a marriage of convenience.
Ivar has a few conditions, one of them is there will be no other lovers.
Before he proposed, Ivar sneaked around William’s bedchamber, and the man was never alone, his bed always full with people who pleasured him. Ivar has to fill a big gap, the man is insatiable.
A fae can’t lie, so William will always know he gets the true version. Ivar is sceptical about William’s honesty. William has to convince his king he’s all in with this arrangement. He hopes Ivar will open his heart for him.
Ivar will keep the bond muted, he will never give William his heart and soul. Old hurt made him do this. William yearns for a deeper connection, but must remember it’s just a political marriage.
They become friendlier and more intimate. Ivar is dedicated to keeping William satisfied, oh boy how he gets satisfied. It’s hot hotter hottest!!
There are still enemies outside their bubble, and it gives this story some action, other than the bedroom scenes.
The author did a great job creating the environments. All beautifully designed! The ceremonials were impressive and breathtakingly executed.
The blurb says ultra-steamy, and (fan my face) that’s a fact, it was scorching! Everything was beautifully detailed and displayed. My iPad got overheated due to all the heat.
Overall, an excellent piece of work, with lovable main characters. The story is quite captivating. I read it in one sitting.
