BLURB:
I came to Legacy for a fresh start—to outrun my past and forget the anonymous man I fell for online.
But now all I see is Alex Marian.
The bane of my existence. Firebug. Reckless bar owner. Walking disaster.
It doesn’t matter that he’s the sexiest man alive. Or charming. Or kind.
He’s entitled, spoiled, rich, naive—everything I hate.
He’s also young and untouched—not that it’s any of my business.
The townspeople say he’s the sunshine to my grump.
What they don’t know is that worrying about him keeps me up at night.
He’s the match, and I’m the gasoline—and the way he looks at me says he knows exactly what kind of fire we’d make together.
But Alex Marian might just be worth the burn.
REVIEW:
This is second book in the Made Marian Legacy series. The Marian in this book is Alexander, son of blue and Tristan whom we met in Borrowing Blue (Made Marion #1). Alexander decided to move away from the family vineyard and set out on his own. He moved to Legacy near his uncles and cousins and set up Timber a wine and gourmet pizza bar. He was determined not to rely on his family’s money and he’s doing this on his own. He does have the emotional and physical support of all his cousins and his excellent staff. Unfortunately, a small fire at the bar brings him to the attention of the new Fire Chief in town Jude Kincaid and not in a good way.
Jude Kincaid has moved to Legacy to escape his former life and to try and move on from his lost love. He can’t believe it when he walks into a pizza restaurant and sees a face from his past or so he thinks. Especially as this person has just set light to a napkin holder in his bar. Only was it him or was it someone else and why would he lie to protect somebody else.
What I love with this series is that not only to all the books have a small town feel they also have an amazing cast of characters. They have strong elements of found family, strong elements of familial bonds and unbreakable friendships. The Marions all love strongly they are fiercely protective and they aren’t afraid to tease and push each other, and it has Great Aunt Tilly! There is also enough little side elements to the story (I don’t want to give anything away) to keep this story feeling fresh.
Yes, this is the second book in this spin-off series, but it didn’t feel like you needed to read the prior book in this series or any of the Made Marion first series to understand what is going on it. It stands on its own feet as a standalone novel, whilst at the same time being a great book in the series for all of us that love seeing all the Marian’s.
