REVIEW:

NOTE:   This book is a holiday collection of stories from the historical and modern Crofton Hall series.  These stories will be most loved by fans of those series as these are the stories that take place after the HEA 😉

This is a really lovely set of stories that showcase these vignettes of the happy couples of two of the Crofton Hall series a the holidays.  Whether it’s the first Earl and his actor lover or a future glimpse into the life of the son of the current Earl of Crofton, these stories are a delightful glimpse into the holiday goings on at Crofton Hall and with the family and friends of the Earl.  Anyone who has read there two series will thoroughly enjoy this short story collection of good times at the holidays 🙂  The stories are arranged in the the Christmas Carol fashion of Christmas Past focusing on the historical Crofton Earls, Christmas Present focusing on Ben and Ashley and their family and friends, and finally Christmas Future which provides a crystal ball vision into the future of Davy and other characters!  It’s a complete delight and I can’ recommend this enough.

The first story in this book focuses on the first Earl, Anthony, and his lover Sebastian, an actor.  Anthony is newly married – again – for convenience, but his true love is Sebastian.  There is conflict over the Earl’s duties to entertain at the holidays and the lack of time that he and Sebastian have together with the many guests and entertainments planned.  Sebastian is feeling a bit neglected even though he understands Anthony’s obligations.  Luckily Anthony treasures Sebastian and has his own plans to make sure they can have some quality time together 😉

The second story focuses on James and Adam.  This is a pretty short glimpse into their lives.  It goes to show that sometimes a timely gesture can go a long way in making someone feel loved and appreciated.

The third historical is about Charles and Timothy.  After many years together, these two know how to keep the home fires burning.  The holidays at Crofton Hall are always really something and in this case also quite smexy 😉

The first Modern Crofton couple is of course Ben and Ashley.  I actually read their book first in my Crofton Hall journey and they continue to be a favorite!  They really are just a lovely couple who work at the holidays to keep their relationship romantic.  So sweet and spicy!

The second modern story shows a very sweet side of Chris and Jack.  There is a lot of love and some awesome surprises 🙂

The third story about Dara and Nathan was adorable and funny.  Dara is a bit of a scrooge but Nathan has plans 😉

The final story in this section is another Ben and Ashley story, this one taking place after Davy’s arrival.  (YEA!) It is a lovely gift showcasing the care these two take of each other and Ashley’s continuing hard work to balance fatherhood and the rest of his life including his dear husband Ben 🙂

The last three stories take place in the future. I always love these types of stories, because they can literally go anywhere.

The first stars Karl and Val.  Karl get his own home and Val moves in with him.  It’s so lovely and sweet and hits all the right notes 🙂

The second future story features Robin and Simon.  This story showed another side of the holidays – stress and conflict!  I’m sure most of us can relate.  (Watch the movie Home for the Holidays for a great take on family conflict at Thanksgiving 😉 ).  Luckily things get better!

The final story is an awesome holiday story of meeting the parents with Davy and his beau Kieran.  This was just so sweet and perfectly written.  I love this family!

Overall, these are some really wonderful Christmas stories starring some favorite characters from past books that are still living their lives and loving their partners.  Highly recommended for fans of this series who love to see the After that comes post the HEA 🙂
