BLURB:

A grumpy businessman.
A chaotic sunshine waiter.
One restaurant that might just cook up the love of a lifetime.

Ben Whitaker is done with high-stakes deals and soulless late nights in Melbourne’s corporate jungle. He moves to Adelaide for a fresh start, convinced that buying a cozy neighbourhood restaurant will mean peace, quiet, and control.
Instead, he gets Franco Rossi.

Franco is pure chaos, a whirlwind waiter with cheekbones, charm, and a big heart. He believes everyone deserves a perfect love story… except, apparently, himself.

Ben lives by rules and spreadsheets. Franco lives by gut feelings and grand gestures. The last thing either of them expects? Instant, electric chemistry that sizzles hotter than the kitchen’s stovetop.

As Franco crashes into Ben’s neatly ordered life with flirtatious smiles and late-night tiramisu, Ben’s icy walls start to crumble. But opening up means risking everything—his pride, his plans, and the carefully guarded heart he’s kept under lock and key.

In a world of wine-stained confessions, stolen glances, and found family, Ben and Franco will have to decide: can they turn this unexpected spark into something real… or will their differences tear them apart before dessert?
Will Ben let the sunshine slip through his fingers?

Opposites attract, found family, grumpy/sunshine, big city escape, and a whole lot of slow-burn heat—this is a love story that will leave you hungry for more.

REVIEW:

If you need a sweet low angst read or as I like to call them a palette cleanser, this is the book for you.  I love all the tropes/genres KC writes in, but sometimes you just need a sweet romance to reinvigorate your reading brain.  I know I did.  You can only read so many serial killer/murder mysteries before you need a reset.

Can I just say that I really love the attention to detail KC brings to her world building.  She always takes you to magical places and immerses you in the culture and all of it’s hidden gems.  This one takes us to Adelaide, South Australia, Australia and to Florence, Italy.  Two places I would love to visit – maybe someday.  For now, I will experience these beautiful cities through the eyes of Ben and Franco.  We also get to experience restaurant life and the life of a chef…  One of which I am familiar with… I’ll let you guess which one. 😊

This story bring us Ben and Franco.  Two men looking for a place to belong.  As I have come to expect from KC, we get an in depth look at not only our main characters but also our side characters as well.  You are immersed in this story and really become invested in how these characters will all pull together in the end.  This story also includes my favorite trope, found family.

One more time KC has knocked it out of the park with her story telling skills.  Her attention detail, which comes from her dedication to research, is so well done.  I kind of felt like I was in the kitchen of the restaurant absorbing all the wonderful delicacies being created.  Of course, it wouldn’t be a K.C. Wells story without a little angst, it was so heart wrenching to watch and feel the shattering hearts of Ben and Franco.  But as with all things, this too shall pass, maybe… I’m not going to completely give it away…  Let’s talk about the sexy times in this book – KC really knows how to heat up the pages with these two.  Burns up the pages slowly, but thoroughly.

If you can’t tell by now, I highly recommend this story.  If you want to know if Ben and Franco survive?  If the staff redeems themselves with Ben? If they find all of the buttons that scatter during some sexy times?  I am so not going to tell you… So, get yourself over to your favorite eBook purchasing site and grab this sweet romance up and give it a whirl.  You will not regret it.

Till next time…
