A sports agent and his best client shouldn’t be in this position, but we’re not just agent and client, we’re also friends.
In fact, AJ is one of the people I like most in this world, so when he proposes this scheme that’s supposed to help me enjoy my twentieth high school reunion, I’m shamed to admit, it really doesn’t take that much convincing.
But who in their right mind would ever believe I’m actually in a secret relationship with the multiple-superbowl-winning quarterback of the LA Warriors?
All of my former classmates apparently…
Gomillion High Reunion series is a multi-author collaboration celebrating the 20th reunion of former classmates in a charming small town. From fake dating and long-held rivalries to first loves and second chances, anything can happen when the past and present collide. Don’t miss the reunion – RSVP today!
REVIEW:
This book is part of a multi authors series that features a group of men attending a High School Reunion.
Cam is a successful sports agent, he’s confident and very good at his job, but his personal life is not good; he’d like to find his forever partner, the true love, but so far he’s only had a string of disappointing relationships.
When he gets the email with the invitation to the reunion, he’s in a meeting with his close friend and client AJ.
AJ is a football player, he plays with Derek Johnson and he’s a sweetheart: nice, kind, attentive, always smiling, he gets along with everyone and he’s protective of the people he cares about. He’s been Cam’s client for over a decade and they developed a genuine friendship, they really know each other very well.
Because of their closeness, when Cam confesses to AJ that he feels unsure to go to the reunion because of an ex who broke his heart in high school and messed him up, it’s natural for AJ to want to support his friend: so he suggests going with him as his boyfriend.
AJ has always considered himself straight, but he’s also been very unlucky in his relationships and he’s never been really in love. Being so close to Cam, feeling his presence at his side, holding hands with him, make him feel new emotions and the affection he’s always had towards Cam turns into something different.
I loved that the author made them work for their HEA: while physical attraction was obvious, they still took their time to be sure of what they wanted and they always made their friendship a priority.
I’ll never thank the author enough for bringing Derek back! I’m so in love with that man, I’m very happy I got to read about him again.
This was a nice quick read, I definitely recommend it.
