REVIEW:
The fourth and last instalment in the Executive Suite Secrets series from Ms. Jocelynn Drake. I am going to miss this series so much, It is full of sweetness and second chances, and just the feeling of letting yourself fall in love, no matter the situation and circumstances you are in. It gives me hope that love can truly form when people just give themselves a chance.
Pierce and Simon’s brother, Sawyer, were best friends, they were like brothers. Before Sawyer’s death, Pierce and Sawyer were talking about something that made them both upset, which maybe resulted in Sawyer becoming more reckless than usual, jumping to his death accidentally while diving. Whatever they talked about became a secret Pierce vowed to keep forever but Simon, Sawyer’s younger brother, have other ideas. He has been in love with Pierce for a long time and now that he is an adult he will go after who he wants. One day, he would wear Pierce down and they can finally be together as they were meant to be. He has an inkling that whatever happened on the day Sawyer died is making Pierce treat him the way he treats him now. He vows to find what that is.
Pierce, even if he knows he shouldn’t, cares for Simon a lot. He deeply feels that he is in love with Simon but what Sawyer said to him the day he died will forever remain in his mind and prevents him from being with Simon. When his parents told him that they will arrive for a visit and told him that maybe it was time for him to go back to Boston with them because he hasn’t found anyone to be with, he ran to his friends for advice. Sebastian, Declan and Rome will know what to do. These four have been friends since college and they are all in Cincinnati because they all want to be together. They are all successful in their respective careers. They all came up with the idea of Pierce having a fake boyfriend and that Simon is the most perfect to fit that role, Pierce for a minute regretted running to his friends for help. But he is out of time and other options, at least he and Simon already really know each other.
Pierce and Simon’s attraction to each other has always been simmering just below the surface but whatever happened all those years ago made it impossible for them to be together. But when Simon’s health became an issue, Pierce just has to be there for him, take care of him and keep him safe and healthy not just for Simon’s sake but his as well. Simon will always be special to him even though they could never be together. But Simon has other ideas, he is determined to find out whatever happened and he will make Pierce see that they were always meant to be together, with or without Sawyer destroying everything for them still after all these years.
A story of undying friendship but also of hurtful words that can never be taken back. Words that very nearly destroyed the future of two people in love. When you find that special someone, someone who makes your world a lot better, hold on to that person no matter what. A lot of people are not lucky to ever find their other half, some let them pass by.
All the books in this series show us how sweet life can be with the right person beside you. How fortunate you are to have someone to love and be loved.
I am truly grateful to you Ms. Jocelynn Drake for creating such wonderful characters and situations that are relatable, the ways that we sometimes take towards achieving that happiness that we always look for. Congratulations for another series so wonderful and swoon-worthy!
