Note: This is the continuation of the story of the couple from the first book in this series, Better than Good. I would recommend reading that book first, as well as the soon to be in Audio, Better than Beginnings, the compilation book of the stories of Matty and Aaron’s lives over the years 🙂
Matt and Aaron have been together for 12 years now. They are married, have their dream home, their dream careers, good neighbors, wonderful friends and supportive families (not without some drama long the way). Now they are ready to expand their family. But that road has been bumpy for them. They are going down the path of adoption and things have fallen through. Their counselor has suggested maybe getting a dog before the kids arrive. So they do 🙂 Murphy is a handful! But they love him.
With the adoption failures, they decide to look into surrogacy. They have embryos and they decide to go forward. They find a wonderful candidate for their surrogate and they click right away. Thy don’t want to jinx things, but it looks like a go!
When things begin happening, they have to decide how to share with their larger circle. This results in one of the funniest scenes in the book 🙂 Matt’s mother is always the source of something and she does not disappoint here 🙂 Matt and Aaron’s families are very excited and supportive though.
When an unexpected turn of events happens right before the baby’s impending birth, Matt and Aaron have to make some quick decisions. Are they ready for all this? You’ll have to listen to find out 😀
This is a delightful addition to the story of this beloved couple. Nick J. Russo continues his stellar work in this series. He’s so consistent with his performance of these dear characters. I enjoyed every single second of this story. There were plenty of surprises and so much love and family here. Everyone who has followed this couple’s journey will absolutely love this chapter of their love story. Highly recommended!
