When the sexy little brother of Aidan’s best friend suggests a hookup pact, it’s the perfect storm for a bi-awakening . . .
Toronto Thunder quarterback Aidan Flynn always believed he was straight, until his close friend and favorite wide receiver signs with a team across the country. Distance opens his eyes and unlocks a desire he can’t deny. Even if his feelings aren’t returned, Aidan still wants to learn more about this part of himself.
Frustrated and a little heartbroken, the last thing he expects is for his crappy mood to get called out by his best friend’s little brother. Or for Levi to offer, on one drunken night, a pact: if Aidan never gets together with his guy, Levi will show him everything he’s been missing—and wanting—in bed.
It’s a stupid promise, fueled by booze and heartbreak, and Aidan expects that Levi will never call him on it.
Except Levi does. He shows up at Aidan’s house in Toronto less than two months later, not only willing to fulfill his side of the pact, but now signed to the Thunder as Aidan’s new right tackle. Aidan assumes it’ll be easy to get rid of him, but Levi is charming and persistent, and he not only ends up living in Aidan’s house, but sleeping in Aidan’s bed.
It’s easy and fun and the best hookup Aidan’s ever had in his whole life. It’s so good, in fact, Aidan starts to experience feelings he believed were long gone, traded away with his friend. Maybe with Levi in his life, love isn’t such a lost cause, after all.
They’re great on the field and between the sheets. But when Aidan’s past returns, he must decide whether Levi also has a place in his heart.
REVIEW:
I believe this is the last of the Banks brothers stories. And it’s a doozy!
Aiden Flynn has spent almost his entire adult life making sure his little brother Riley has been taken care of and protected. He wasn’t thrilled when Riley set his sights on a career following him in the NFL as a quarterback. Riley’s good but he still worries. But he knows his best friend Landry Banks has his little brother’s back and heart. So when Riley and Landry show up, unexpectedly, with Landry’s youngest brother Levi in tow, Aiden isn’t thrilled. He had went to his quiet place, his summer lake-side home in Michigan to be alone and sulk. He finally had been brave enough to voice his feelings to his buddy Mo last week at the golf tournament. Mo had been nice and sweet when he gently let him down. But it hurt and all he wanted was some alone time. But Levi just can’t seem to let him alone. That leads to an evening of too much whiskey that loosened his lips and him sharing his misfortune. But that sharing somehow led to them making a sex pact and a hot kiss before Levi is rushed off to meet with his agent when NFL trading was happening. The right tackle was looking for options since Seattle wasn’t upping their money and he wanted a chance at one of those Super Bowl rings like Aiden had two of. So it was a no-brainer for Levi to go to Toronto and be a Thunder along side Aiden. When big brother Landry pulls a “Aiden” move and asks him to keep an eye on his little brother now and give him a room. Close proximity with the younger man, and that sex pact taking up way too much time in their brains, can only lead to one thing. But can it be more? And when an old teammate returns to Toronto, what happens next?
If you are expecting a quick roll in the hay and then I love you’s this isn’t your book. They don’t get to that point until 89% into the book. Before that there is lots of hot sex and caring. However, there’s also a lot of self-questioning and angst to fill a whole football stadium with. I get that this is tricky. Levi is his best friend Landry’s youngest brother. But Landry had already broke that bubble when he fell for Riley. And Aiden was a major over-protective brother.
I love how protective of Aiden that Levi was…both on and off the field. He may be younger however he was much wiser when it came to love. And definitely much wiser when it came to sex. And he was there for him. He saw through Aiden and all his masks. He also was going to make sure that either Ross Acker start protecting Aiden better at Left Tackle, which was Aiden’s blindside, or he was going to become vocal. Because Acker didn’t seem to be able to do that job as well anymore…even if he was a Pro-Bowler!
Both these men endeared themselves to me. I know they had to work through a lot before they could vocalize their thoughts and feelings. Aiden was already so leery after the Mo situation. And then there was the whole brothers of brothers situation. They may not have been family blood-wise, But they were securely tied together through joint family.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series. We are promised Dawson and Cameron’s book next. And then Ramsey’s. Great finish to the Banks family and fantastic start to this newest series! Can’t wait!
