All of the suspects have alibis. None of them have a motive. And it feels as if all of them are lying.
But if it wasn’t one of them, who was it?
Someone who isn’t happy that Gary and Dan are getting closer. Someone who’s watching their every move. Someone who’s decided it’s time to play a new game.

REVIEW:

First off, my usual disclaimer – As this is book four in the Second sight series, you must read these books in order, as they build on each other. The genre for this series is really one of my favorites, I just love a good procedural/mystery.  This story dives deeper into the death of Gary’s brother with the added intrigue of a serial killer added into the mix.

The worldbuilding in this one is top notch.  K.C. continues to build on the previous books and adds another level for this mind boggling mystery.  We find ourselves neck deep in the mind of a serial killer and let me just say – it’s a scary place to be.

The character development continues to be brilliantly constructed.  From side characters to main characters to the villains in this story, K.C. has really upped the game in this genre. Creating in-depth and very detailed characters, that you initially find yourself liking, but as the book moves along – you might not like them so much anymore. Her villain in this book is masterfully created, and his lack of moral code just oozes off the page.  But our main characters don’t remain stagnate, they evolve, and we get even more depth to Gary and Dan and their relationship.

The prose shockingly does not disappoint. This story is so intricately woven and extremely intriguing, I didn’t want to put this story down.  In this story Gary and Dan are able to finally investigate the death of Gary’s brother, Brad.  Whereas Brad’s death is part of the cold case files, there might be a tie into some more  recent cases.  With the aid of another character, a pattern for these killings is starting to emerge.  I don’t want to give away the serial killer’s MO, but it’s truly ingenious. I can’t forget to mention that there is the perfect amount of sexy times in this one, as well.

With all of that being said, I highly recommend this story and series.  If you want to know if Dan and Gary solve the mystery of Brad’s death? If they find out who the serial killer is?  Will Gary and Dan survive this? You will need to run to your favorite eBook purchasing site and grab this book up.  Because as usual, I’m not going to reveal any of that information to you.  I don’t know if we will get to see Gary and Dan again, but I truly hope so.  These two are just magic on the page.

Till next time…
