BLURB:
Secret Springs historical society manager Hank Vargas has two passions: history and hauntings. By day he’s a mild-mannered historian. By night he hunts ghosts in old buildings and antique hotels. So when all his friends start pairing off, getting married and having babies, Hank throws himself into podcasts and videos of his paranormal investigations as well as scholarly articles about the history of Secret Springs. Soon enough, though, Hank finds out that being a minor local celebrity can have its drawbacks, and one of those is ghost debunker Elliot Graham.
Elliot Graham works for a scientific journal, traveling the world and debunking urban legends and ghost stories. A certain Hank Vargas seems like a prime target, especially since the guy appears to think he’s an actual historian as well as a spirit chaser. What Elliot doesn’t expect from Secret Springs is how charming the place is, and how interesting he finds Hank. In a very personal way.
When the weather and the ghosts of Secret Springs start giving them more than they bargain for, Hank and Elliot have to put aside their differences and solve a century old mystery. Can they build something lasting together at the same time?
REVIEW:
I have been waiting patiently (okay, okay…not so patiently) for Hank’s story to get here. Poor guy. He has watched not only the rest of the Musketeers omegas get their Alpha and a slew of babies that he is now the proud Godfather of. But he has even had to watch all the new omegas that have come to Secret Springs meet their Alpha and have families. (Like Chase, Ryan and Stone.)
I love that Hank is a:
- Godfather to all his friend’s babies (and that’s a lot of babies!)
- Curator at the Secret Springs Historical Museum for almost ten years
- Secret Springs historical society manager
- Princeton educated Historian
- Successful Ghost finder
- Successful Podcast celebrity
- Owner/operator of Secret Springs Ghost tour and Haunted Hotel tour
But the man seriously needs to get his own hard earned HEA! What he didn’t need though was a naysayer attempting to debunk his ghost sightings and interactions. But even disbelievers as strong as Elliot can’t disprove a ghost that literally attack him. And he has the scabs on his face to remind him! Or a ghost that helps a poor dying omega right in front of him. But the big question now is…is the newly renovated hotel that Jack and Chase have finished and is up and running safe? Or does that lady ghost just have it out for Elliot?
I loved how, as soon as Elliot’s parents realized that their son’s mate (something they never thought would happen) lost his parents when he was just a teenager, they made sure that he understood that Hank was now theirs! I know that he missed his parents badly. And I know that the Musketeers and their families always included Hank as part of their family. But this was special. And just for Hank. 💕
At this rate, the population of Secret Springs is going to explode. New people are discovering the wonderful little town where you can walk to most places easily and then decide to move there permanently. Plus, Saul and Mark are attempting to set all kinds of baby making records by themselves. Poor Saul…triplets after twins??? I’m pretty sure they are both looking at permanent ways to prevent any more! And Jack isn’t letting Chase (who is so horny through most of his pregnancies) be not knocked up for very long 😜. At least they have plenty of bedrooms at the ranch, plus acreage to add on if needed, and the finances to afford all their babies! Lol!!!
I love this town and its caring, accepting and loving townspeople. It makes me long to visit and try out all the yummy foods. As long as it’s summer because this reviewer is a snowbird through and through! ☀️
