Another trip back to Beauville and it’s loving and protective Bear shifters.
Oliver knows two things:
- Mayor Theodore Frey is his fated mate!
- That he will get his man no matter how much Frey tries to avoid him. Because fate always gets her way!
So, after that humiliating moment on his 18th birthday, he goes off to his prestigious college, matures, gets his degree in Economic and gets hired as the new city treasurer. Now Frey, Beauville Mayor, can’t avoid him any longer because they work together. Frey has managed to avoid his best friend’s youngest son since that night. But being surrounded by his delicious scent each day at work isn’t making it easy. When Oliver shows up late one night, in heat triggered by his fated mate Frey, he has to acknowledge the truth…Oliver is his fated mate and they are going to have a baby when this is all through. But how will his two best friend, Chickie and Phil take the news?
It was so hard to watch both men deny themselves. I get Oliver. Being dismissed and sent away would leave you vulnerable. But he just knew that Teddy was his fated mate. And I love that he finally acknowledged that he was too young and needed to mature. But I found it endearing and spoke to that knowledge by literally saving himself for his mate. I can’t even comprehend the depth that Teddy felt when he learned that was Oliver’s first time for everything. The horror of learning that had to have had a profound impact. That and realizing that Oliver knew and held himself pure for his true mate all through college.
This book in the series touched me. How much everyone cared about Oliver. His Dad and Pa that he find a good, caring and protective mate. That they were concerned over his inability to shift. That Chickie was so relieved when he heard that Oliver really was able to conceive. That all touched me so. And how Teddy was so perfect with Oliver. Not pushy and letting the young man discover and experience all his wonderful firsts together.
I am really excited for the next book on this series. We will be getting Calvin’s bestie, international singing star, Laurel Riley’s story and it’s sure to be a doozy!
