What can I say about this new book from Alexander C Eberhart but it’s brilliant. Until now I had never read a book written by Alexander. But now I’m wondering what I was thinking. So many things to draw on that make his writing fantastic. This book, Dead Wrong, is the first book in his new series The Second Awakening and it’s an exceptional must read. Might make my top 10 books of 2025.
The world building is so well done. I’m always intrigued when an author can just create a world and bring it to life and make it feel so real and engaging. There is just so much that goes into it. As this is the first book in the series, we are learning more and more about this world as the story goes along.
I’m really excited about the character development in this story. Tobias and Bastian are the main focus of this book, but we are introduced to some “side” characters along the way. These “side” characters are very important to Tobias and his survival. Of course, these men create wonderful possibilities for future stories and enhances the harem trope. I mean who among us doesn’t enjoy a MMM+ story or stories. I know I love it. Alexander’s character development is in depth and does not skimp on the details, regardless of it being a main or side character.
As this is Alexander’s first foray into the MM+ fiction world, he excels at it naturally. His previous stories have more focused on the YA stories. He has created a very intricately weaved story, from a psychological story to incorporate urban fantasy and political intrigue. The story is crafted in such a way that you never lose site of the end game or the plot. The flashback scenes are well placed and enhance the story by providing the reader with important background information. The sexy times are also well placed and are hot and well crafted. They are not just sexy times, to throw in a hot sex scene for the heck of it.
Will Tobias survive to save his sister? Will Bastian forgive Tobias? Will they all survive the political machinations? Well, I think by now you know I am not going to give such secrets away. If you want to find out these answers and become thoroughly engrossed in this new book/series from Alexander – you need run, and I do mean run to your favorite eBook purchasing site and grab this book up because before you know it the second book will arrive, and you’ll be woefully behind. Oh yes, don’t let me forget – I highly recommend this book, and I can’t wait for the next one.
