How does one achieve a firm but gentle hand with talons?
Well, step one involves keeping the claws in check.
And avoidance.
Both of which my big brother told me would fail.
I tried them anyway. Several times, several different ways.
No matter the method, Ionus was right—just don’t tell him I admitted to that.
Fate dropped sweet, timid Emerson into Caro’s err, wings? Arms? Clutches? Now it’s up to Caro what to do with him.
Emerald Waves is book 2 in the Primordial Protectors series. An omega with a haunting past, a protector with zero clue how to be a mate. How can they be what each other needs when they don’t even know what they need themselves?
REVIEW:
Sometimes Wow! just doesn’t say enough. I am so hooked on these wonderful and protective Brothers Denarius. The universe that Authors Layla Dorine and TL Travis have constructed is so vivid that I can easily picture it in my mind when I close my eyes. And who would not swoon at the love and care these alphas place on the most importance part of the life…their precious Omegas and dragonets they have waited centuries to meet? They literally are Primordial Protectors for the entirety of the Dragon World. So, of course, they take protecting their loved ones as their most important role.
Caro is somewhat a bit of a mystery to his brothers. Although the earth is his focus as the Emerald Primordial Dragon, the deep reaches of the ocean is his secret joy. And his unique horde is something he is extremely protective of. When he is deep in the ocean on day he sees something in a hidden cavern that mystifies him. But that will have to be looked at another day because he suddenly knows/realizes that Emerson has had an accident and he has to get back very quickly. And he is going to finally have to acknowledge something that he didn’t want to look at…Emerson is his true mate and he can deny it no longer.
Emerson knows he’s different. Hell, his own father threw him away when his dragon wouldn’t appear even after severe beatings. He is extremely thankful that the Brothers Denarius, the Primordial Protectors of all the Dragon Clans, gave him the perfect job as the Dragon Archivist and Historian in Dragon City. A job some might say he takes a bit too seriously. But preserving the dragon’s history and lore is very important work. And his studying it is of the utmost importance and he is truly valued here. Even if some think he’s a bit strange. But when The Goddess decides enough is enough, these two mates must recognize and accept that their fates are sealed. And when they do so many wonderful things are open to them both together. 💕
I am very concerned about the Gorynych Clan. They are evil and ruthless. And now they are realizing that the young omegas, like Emerson, that they literally threw away when their dragons would not come forward even after severe abuse, now have their dragons and are wanted back. Screw that! But I fear that the days are coming sooner than the Brothers would like. Not that they want war. But war is increasingly becoming more likely with the Gorynych becoming so bold and daring. And I fear there are many, many moles that have infiltrated the Dragon Clans.
I love this series so much that I am hopeful that we will have a spin-off series of all these new babies. The twins and their antics will be awesome. And Luna will be one to make sure all are well and cared for I’m sure. Griffin will be a strong protector. And sweet newborn Cade will possibly follow in both of his father’s footsteps. Preserving knowledge/history and close-to-extinct sea life being a priority he is emerged in. I love that Caro “has a theory that the Goddess is gifting our children with different affinities and gifts for what lays ahead.” Just like each brother has a different strength and connection, I believe these babies will play a critical and important part in the saving of the dragon universe.
Now I can’t wait until Christmas for the Holiday novel we are promised. That should definitely be a hoot! And then on to Uncle Odem’s story and I can’t wait for that!!! I am sure The Goddess has her work cut out for her with him!
