Gay for Pray by F.A. Ray

Coming September 9
Arpor Sacred Sacrament University, Book 1
My divine destiny to join the priesthood isn’t supposed to include a college fling with an openly gay classmate.
Theodore
My father decided my fate before I was born. The son of a deacon, divine destiny pointed me toward the priesthood. That’s the whole reason I enrolled at A.S.S. University.
But my father didn’t know about the desires I’ve been fighting for my whole life when he made his holy plan for me. And he doesn’t know that my openly gay classmate is everything I’ve ever wanted.
Jude embodies all the things I hold sacred: He’s smart, handsome and shockingly kind. I retreat to the university’s liturgical choir, the one place Jude is sure to avoid…until he joins as well, placing my destiny and my secret on a collision course.
Jude
I’ve never met anyone less cool than Theodore Walsh. No wonder the guy plans to become a priest. He sneers at my very existence, as though merely by being myself I might get some of the gay on him.
I joined the liturgical choir to meet guys. If there’s going to be queer people anywhere in this Catholic university, it’ll be in the closest thing A.S.S. Uni. has to a theater club. But Theodore’s presence was not part of the plan.
When we get assigned to a group project together, things turn even more dire. On a whim, I invite him to a frat party, never imagining he’ll say yes.
What goes down at that party is a disaster of Biblical proportions.
Gay for Pray is an enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract, first time MM college romance set at a fictional Catholic university. For CWs and more, see linktr.ee/faraywrites.

“Why are you being so nice to me?” he says. His voice is hushed, like we’re inside a soap bubble and speaking too loudly will break it. The moment certainly feels fragile enough to snap with a word. “You needed help,” I say, equally quiet. “Did you really think I’d abandon you at that party when you were in a state like that?” “Why not? We aren’t friends. You barely know me. You certainly don’t like me.” A pang strikes my chest. I might not like the guy, but does he really think I’d leave him in a state where he couldn’t even pick himself up off the ground? “Well, anyway,” he says. “Thank you. You’ve been kinder than I deserved.” “Hey, don’t go all Catholic guilt on me. Anyone in your position would have deserved help.” “You’ve done so much more than help out someone in need. You said I…needed to be held last night. And you even did that. You didn’t have to, not after how I’ve treated you. You stayed with me all night, and even now…” He waves vaguely at us, at our close proximity, encompassing the way we napped against each other. “Yeah, I did stay with you,” I say, “but it wasn’t exactly a burden, Theodore.” I meet his eyes, letting meaning pass between us. His hand goes to my neck. With the barest ounce of pressure, he pulls me toward him, and I fall into him. His mouth is warm and soft and greasy with bacon and sweet with syrup and so many things all at once, and I close my eyes and soak it in greedily. My hand lands on his shoulder, bracing as I fall deeper against him, as I tremble from a kiss I never could have imagined or expected. He wanted this.
