It’s difficult to remain professional when your new BL partner is your old crush.

When Spin–or “Baby,” as his friends nicknamed him due to his affectionate and clingy nature–joins a new Boys’ Love production company, he never expects to be coupled with his old crush from university, Park Rardchawat. He knows from experience how easy it is to get too attached to your partner in this business, and, with his sister’s tuition to pay for, he can’t afford to get lost in his feelings. But with competitive fanservice blurring the lines, it isn’t long before Spin finds himself falling hard for his handsome costar. Now, it’s his heart as well as his job he has to worry about.

REVIEW:

Spin “Baby” Jetatikarn earned his nickname Baby from his friends after playing the lead in the all male version of Dirty Dancing in the University play. With his smaller stature and youthful face the nickname had stuck. Plus he loves to cuddle with his friends. Now that he’s a bl star that has changed to a new production company and ready for his big break. They have cast him in his first starring role opposite his costar from that play in school that he had such a major crush on. But the one thing hard lesson he learned from his first series is that ship is only an illusion and not real. His heart learned that lesson fast.

I liked that both these young men had so much in common. Their little sisters, although much different ages apart, were their priority. Park’s half sister Anya was so young when her parents were killed in a freak accident and Park became her guardian. And Spin’s sister Nok was a young teen when their father ran off and he had to  care for her. He had been though most of his life, after his mother’s questionable death, and protecting her from his father’s drunken and violent outbursts. So watching Spin interact with Anya was a joy. He was a natural nurturer.

This new studio seems to be a bit less rigid that the previous studio. They still worked these bl boys to the brink of total exhaustion. And they demanded more social media time from their actors. But that was so they could gain the upper hand over the other bl production studios. And, with more and more bl actors moving over to this studio, their popularity is booming.

One thing that really started to bug me was that Spin kept calling Park by his more honored name even when they were being intimate. Even Park called him by his nickname at least once. But Spin always called him P’Park, even in his head. It was like he couldn’t relax into their budding real relationship. The only thing that soothed that for me was that Spin did that with everyone so it was in his true nature I guess. However he didn’t do it with all his friends, no matter their status. He even referred to Rama and Pravat by just their names. I would think losing your virginity and continuing a sexual and personal relationship would allow you to refer to your lover/life partner less formally. At least when they were alone.

Even though this new studio didn’t seem quite as bad, the whole bl film industry is so toxic. They are out for riches off the hearts and souls of their actors. And they don’t care how it destroys them emotionally and physically.
